I have read all the posts and IMO Silsbee players play with emotion, which is what you want.....this team is so much better than any other team in their district that it breeds animosity toward the Tigers....who really knows if this was a planned strategy? WO-S beat the socks off all their opponents in football and didn't encounter this type of reaction(that i know of)...these are kids who are striving for a state championship and just because your team isn't good enough to beat them, you do this to get them disqualified? Silsbee Tigers be aware....THIS IS NOT THE END OF YOUR TESTS....
The WOS argument actually kind of makes you look worse. They dominated far more than you guys are. Won back to back state titles and have had zero problems like this. You guys keep saying how great you are but are wearing no rings.

I've seen no one from LCM on here defending any actions at all by anyone from their community. Only apologies and regrets. Silsbee on the other hand is using everything they can to place blame else where. Like the guy posted earlier, if you have problems with everyone you play then you might want to look in the mirror. And no, it isn't because you are so awesome that everyone looses their mind when they play you. This area has had many basketball teams go to the state tournament. None were on probation for fighting (like Silsbee). None had players suspended for fighting (Silsbee will). None had confrontations with almost every opponent they play (like Silsbee does).
I too have seen the video. Let me be the first to defend the LCM kids. Get slapped in the face (which drew a technical foul at the time, no one is mentioning that, for those of you wondering who started it, might be the person who drew the first technical foul), then give a half slap in return that missed by 3 feet. Only to have the guy then throw a haymaker your way. Luckily a team mate stopped him from landing it. IMO I never saw an LCM player throw a "punch". #0 simple went in high to stop the kid from decking his team mate (did catch him in the face though). Then the Silsbee player threw another haymaker.
I won't even touch on what #3 from Silsbee did. Except to say he should probably be facing criminal charges, and if he suits up again for Silsbee the school should be embarrassed.

Congrats to the Jasper coaches and the Jasper Bulldog players from the Hawks. I went to this game last night and left with one thing that I could not get off my mind. Carthage had the leadoff batter on several times. I cannot understand why they did not bunt. (accept for couple attempts with number 2 that got ONE down) They just stood in there and tried to hit a somewhat dominant pitcher. I know Coach Kirkland's style from his days over here and felt that had he been in the other dugout, Carthage possibly wins the game which shows the respect we have for him over here.

Who pitched for HJ and Silsbee?
No one ever answered the question regarding "who pitched for HJ?"
-
that is averaging 12 pitches an inning. I saw this game. my bet is 113 is incorrect number.
on the low end hs pitchers throw 15 pitches an inning. (usually more) and he pitched to three batters in the 10th

We have played select ball our whole lives and never have we had an issue with a coach overthrowing a kid. You cant put the blame on just "Select/ summerball" or even coaches. If your going to blame someone. Blame the parents because their the DUMB A$$E$ that let their kid throw everyday. People need to stop pointing the finger at Summer ball and coaches and start blaming themselves for not speaking up. Anyway rant over... back to the subject. Should there be a pitch count in HS.. YES 100 pitches total once a week. I've seen some kids throw 120+ pitches lately and that's where kids get hurt.
This post was interesting to me.
Does it not say at the start of his post to stop pointing the finger?
and then in the middle of post point the finger at the parents?
and finish the post with pointing the finger at the high school coach?

Anybody know how many innings and pitches the starters for each team threw?

two exciting games played in jasper earlier. between them were, one coach ejected, one coach confined to the dugout, and two parents being ejected.

So....?
BC/Silsbee secure playoff spot with a win tonight?
LCM/HJ/WO-S a MUST win situation to stay in playoff hunt?BC and Silsbee would secure a playoff spot with a win tonight.
But,
Looks like to me none of those other three are mathematically eliminated with a loss tonight.
Ex. HJ loses and finishes at 6-6, hj is only eliminated tonight with a wos win over lcm because lcm beat hj twice. If lcm beats wos, hj is still alive because they split. HJ would be rooting for Silsbee come firday to make wos finish 6-6 and force a play in game.
-
Will that be at home or in Hamshire?
-
District committee says hj hf have to play today. or if rained out today tomorrow.
-
HJ is 5-4 and you can take BC of the remaining games to e played.
-
There are still 3 or 4 make up games to be played. When are those going to be played? Saturday?
HJ HF
WOS OF
?

That is correct.
Worded it better. -
I went to see this one last night. There was a ton of water on the field. Possibly two inches in places that were not beneath the tarp during the rains the night before. Who decides if a field is playable or not playable? Balls hit to the out field splashed. Balls that landed in the foul territory of the infield splashed. Balls to the backstop splashed. I would hope our coach would have thought that field to be unplayable and not put season on the line in a ballpark that is too wet to play a district game on. So who gets to decide if the field is playable and what if hamshire's coach would have diagreed as I hope ours would have.

I was counting the 30 local teams with 4 or 5 kids substitute players each having two parents. So, yes, couple hundred.
I had a PM from a coach that said many times during games when starters are playing poorly he looks down at his line up card for a player or two that he might could sub in to make their team better and when his eyes cross the seven subs names at the bottom of the card his he says to himself "nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Then he recalls that if there were any players at the bottom of the card that were better than the ones at the top they would have started the game.
.....and I don't have a kid playing.
-
With that being said, out of thirty teams in the area I bet there are slim to none with players on the bench that are better players than those on the line up card. And with that being said, there are 200 parents that think dIfferently. I am counting the ones on the jv who speak out that they too are better than the guy on the varsity bench and the varsity starter. Coaches dont miss getting the best team they have on the field by much. Most don't miss it all. They are trying to win.

ok here is what happened. the game was in sour lake. too wet. so should swap sites move to wos. wos AD said no. we will play Wednesday at HJ which if that had happened tomorrow wos would have possibly forfeited due to not following uil recommendations for first half of district rain outs. the wos baseball coach was not going to let that happen. he kept plugging at it. the AD said they could not play there because could not find ticket taker and collect gate because not on some master schedule. nor could the lights be turned on because they had not been scheduled to be turned on. but the game could be moved to wos if no gate and no lights and hj pay officials, and IF jv game was cancelled. so the younger kids do not get to play because they wont turn a switch. also hj is home team today at wos (because paying the officials) and home next time at hj. so if being home team is an advantage then the decision to not turn on the lights, take a gate, and pay the umpires has taken that advantage away from the kids over there. this info is all straight from the people in the know.

Just the fact the score was 30-1 is enough said.
The statement above made by 1987 exposes the problem if that guy is on that coaching staff.
"only stole second and third"
Stealing any bases at all after up over 10 runs is uncalled for.
There are ways to keep from scoring 30 and teach your kids a good lesson on the day.
I have seen the scores posted by that team and I am embarrassed for them.

I got out to watch some district opponents last night and Moore touched 90mph on the gun a few times.

We have had a few coaches leave recently to be coordinators. Any of those possible candidates? I think one of them was in the running for the bc job.

You are correct. Adams threw the first punch in the course of heated action on the floor, got a flagrant foul, and a 1 game suspension. All punishments seem very appropriate.
