Clearly the better team won. I was wondering if Palestine was missing kids in some of their losses.
I guess we were spared a HJ beatdown this year.
Gonna be adding a generational level talent to a pretty good team next year. Maybe then we'll be ready for a deeper playoff run.
Ma’Ryiah is def a generational talent. But word on the street is she is heading to HJ? Any truth to that?

Coach Newman in Kountze is a great guy & coach. Good luck to all the area teams 🏀

Yes very long. May not win a game
Time to clean house and bring in a quality coaching staff
I didn’t hear your whiny butt complaining about the staff a couple years ago when they went 3 rounds deep.
same staff as now...different players. They are young & there will be growing pains. Some persevere...others, like you, complain.

Parker lead the Nederland team to the 3rd round. Deep as they have been in quite a while.

Congrats to HJ on a heck of a run the last 4 years. The team has a lot of talented girls back. They will be back in San Antonio soon.
Brownsboro played a heck of a game Saturday night. The twin girls for Brownsboro are sophomores. -

The amount of talent on that HJ team is unreal. Obviously having one of the top couple of players in any classification in Texas is a huge part of it, but I think they’ll have a very good shot at returning to state the next couple of years as well with what they’ll have after she graduates.
Absolutely. Team is loaded.

Boutte never made his teams cower in a huddle along the sidelines. He spread his guys out with a lead because he knew his ballhandlers were better than the other team's defenders. Apples and oranges.
Boutee also has UNBELIEVABLE talent. NBA talent & countless college basketball players. They were rarely out-talented on the hardwood. They could spread you & use that incredible talent...if you tried to chase them around the half court.
They use a play clock in football for a reason. They use a shot clock in basketball for a reason. 13 states already have implemented a shot clock. About time the rest (including Texas) get out of the stone ages.
Stalling is stalling no matter the form.
-
Shot Clock. No different than holding it up top for 3 minutes & trying to force the other team into a game of Chase. That’s not basketball either.
-
Simple fix. Outlaw all stall ball with a shot clock.

I definitely watched the game. BU literally stalled as a clap back to Nederland that stalled earlier in the game….
Clap back? LOL. You’re something else. Nederland’s leading scorers were their post & forward. They were attacking the basket early, then United switched to zone to take that away. Like I said earlier, if there were a shot clock, the Dogs would not have had a single violation. United on the other hand? Several in the 2nd Q.

...Nederland did stall, well, I should say they were very methodical. Or maybe lethargic is a better adjective.
LOL. Wrong. You must not have watched the game. If there were a shot clock, United would have had several violations. They held the ball up top in the 2nd Q to see if the Dogs would come out & chase them (which they didn’t). Nederland on the other hand, spread the floor & attacked the basket early. To the point that United switched to a zone. Dogs took care of the ball (which took away easy transition baskets) & protected the paint on D. United struggled shooting, while the Dogs competed on the boards. No doubt, Yates would have made a difference in the game. Great effort from the Dogs.

Stall ball is working for Nederland. 1:24 to play 4th
At no point in the game did Nederland stall. BU on the other hand, held the ball up top vs Nederland’s zone several times in the 1st half.

He’s bitter & it shows. Gotta be a miserable life always rooting against HS kids & their coach.

It most certainly is. Half court man to man, except with a shot clock.

You must hate college & pro basketball then.
