Newton could still potentially be district champs…not sure what the tie breaker for this district is, but New Waverly IMO is good enough to possibly upset Hardin.

He’s been a lot of fun to work with. Very coachable. He’s added 15 yds to his kickoffs and 7-8 yds to his FG range in just 8 weeks.

The Citadel is a FCS school like Lamar, SFA. McNeese, etc. Many FBS schools play FCS schools. LSU played McNeese this year. A&M will beat them very badly. I'm only going because it's Military Weekend and my daughter, who served in the Army/Reserves for 8 years, wanted to attend with her three boys. Just going for the atmosphere and time with the family. This game is secondary to me but my grandsons are excited about it. Good enough for me.

It's only Sunday night but right now I'm planning to get to Dayton (vs PNG) this Friday, and probably get drive-thru from Chic-fil-a or Canes. I can't imagine The Citadel playing A&M. What's the deal, they're a AA or AAA team. I see they lost to Charleston Southern (formerly Baptist College) a couple of weeks ago. But Rudy's BBQ is good.

I doubt if any team from this district gets past the first round, just my opinion, and hopefully I'm wrong. But anyway, if I didn't indicate it in my previous post, my comments regarding pulling starters has nothing to do with preventing injuries, but getting everyone on the team some playing time. With a 35 or 40+ point lead, start mixing it up and get everyone onto the field and in the game. It just ain't right otherwise, to the kids or anyone.

If I'm Silsbee, I start to run Mathews a little bit more. He has some good speed and size. Zone read could could open up the offense more. Im not a fan of the bubble screen to Williams as it seems we don't block that well and it goes for zero to very short gains. Id like to see us throw over the middle a bit more or some 10 yard comeback routes. WOS has rhe better team but anything csn happen. Silsbee has upset WOS a few times.

I agree on weakest district, soft kids, and Nederland not getting past first round.

If we are all being honest this is by far the weakest district we have seen in many years. I would keep the starters in the entire time to get the reps needed because if the Dogs somehow make the playoffs they want get past the 1st round due to better competition. Everyone is worried about injuries. I feel those happen more frequently because we coach them to be soft. Work thru the soreness and get stronger everyday!!! Call me crazy but just my opinion!
