Meh. I’m not sure about that. Sounds like you’re saying EC pulled everyone for the 2nd half. That didn’t happen. They even started the 2nd half with an onside kick attempt. Could they have been tinkering around offensively? Sure. They didn’t pull players until about 8:00 or so left in the 4th.

Both teams are off this week. Let's get the discussion up now. Should be one of the best games of the year in our area. Longhorns beat us the last 2 times we played there. Almost beat us last year at home too. People forget that we barely survived to win the DC. 2022 > HF 26-21 2023 > #7 HF 21-14 2024 > #9 HF 28-14 winning the DC in the rain 2025 > WOS 22-20 FG with 44 secs left If either team is ranked it wont matter. Since the coaching change this is our biggest rivalry. I see us getting schooled again by a talented and very well coached team. HF comes out confident and plays like they have all season. WOS plays like HS French fries and needs the ketchup. #4 will be needed again to save us down the stretch. But we have to find another way to win. Maybe Dugas has the game of his career with better play calling. Maybe big plays by the secondary to limit HF passing attack. Maybe another FG to win it. No matter how, it will take all 3 phases to escape that old school grass field with a win.

That wasn’t even close to what BC was doing on O the past two weeks. Especially in the first half. They were actually pretty aggressive in play calling until they got up by 3 scores. Then they just pounded the run game to eat up the clock. BC could’ve scored 2-3 more TDs if they wanted to. From what I saw, they dropped 2 wide open balls that were probable TDs as well.

Houston is starting Lambert today on just two days rest. Lambert started Thursday against the A's, going 2 and 2/3rds, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits (2 HR), 6 K's and 2 BB. A total of 62 pitches. Look for him to go no more than 3 innings today then bring in Sousa, Blubaugh, Hendrickson, Abreu and Hader. Hader hasn't pitched since Wednesday so he could go two innings if needed. With Wesneski going 7 innings last night, Houston didn't have to use any of their leverage guys out of the pen. Blanco pitched the last two innings giving up no runs on no hits, 3 K's. Sousa, Blubaugh and Hendrickson have not pitched since Friday. Sousa 5 pitches, Blubaugh 15, Hendrickson 4. Abreu hasn't pitched since Thursday going 1 1/3 with 14 pitches. In other words, Houston bullpen should be rested if one can say that in Game 162. A's are making it a bullpen day. They are starting reliever Seth Johnson. Johnson pitched against Houston on Friday. 1 IP, 1 H, 1 run, 1 K. He gave up a HR to Smith. Had a total of 16 pitches. His ERA on the season is 6.19. Houston will need to continue to produce runs like they did last night against an A's pitching staff that is the worst in the AL with a team ERA of 5.48. Houston has a team ERA of 4.48. In this current series with the A's the Astros have scored 25 runs in 3 games. Give me 8 runs by Houston today and I like our chances.
