Actually I thought Huntsville just put 54 on Crosby in round 2. Oh well whatever both teams had a great year and once again congrats to BH on a district Championship and 11 wins. Hell BH might win district in all 3 major sports boys and girls.

Roster shows a ton of kids returning. Having a season like this will only make more kids want to participate.

Well congrats BH. Kids got to play 2 games at NRG and had an 11 win season. Westerburg will have this program continually getting better.

Guess neither teams defense can match the offenses speed. BH needs a turnover and just onside kick every time they score.

Aledo did last year. Marshall would not have even got past the second round in that region. Heck they barely moved the ball on CC Calallen. If this was a track meet I would take Marshall but it’s not. Speed can easily be off set with assignment and fundamentals. Still need kids that can ball but Aledo would not want FB Marshall in a track meet.

Manvel is loaded as usual but if BH doesn’t turn the ball over I really think they will score points. Probably will need to be at least +2 on turnovers but just keep it close don’t give them a short field and I like their chances.

Most points Whitehouse has given up all year. Just so happy for those kids to get the opportunity to play at NRG and perform the way they did. I know it’s a long shot but a BH vs Crosby regional final would be huge.

Good luck today Coogs. I work with a guy named Michael Ray who’s son plays for the Coogs. Good little ball player and really hoping to see him and his team advance. I saw Huntsville play Fort Bend Marshall last year at the Berry Center and I know they lost their stud D end but they were big and very physical so bring your A game and make Huntsville earn it if they want the W. Big time homer pick Crosby 24-17.

Dayton had 8 district championships from 1941-1977. Then they hire Stewart and roll of 9 district championships in his 15 years as head coach I believe. Then he semi retires and Dayton did not win a district championship without him as a head coach. In comes the new head coach and the last 4 years Dayton is averaging around 2 wins a year. Guess we had a huge Hispanic invasion before he got here and then another one now that he’s gone. Side note the all-time leading passer in Dayton history is a 5”7 Hispanic kid. I believe around 6000 yds a bunch of playoff wins including a regional final against Brenham that Dayton was leading with about 2 minutes to go in the game. Make no mistake about it there are going to be years teams have more talent than others but Stewart could take an average team and win a ton of games. I would never expect Dayton to be state contenders every year but to not win a single district game in 2 years is horrible.

I think if BH plays a fairly clean game they will win easily. Y’all have a great coach and staff so I’m sure the kids will be ready. I’m really impressed with what he has done so far and BH has a lot of young kids playing. Playing at NRG is s great experience for the kids and I hope BH rolls into the next round.

I know Manvel beat them last year 62-42 in the first round.

I can’t wait to check this game out Friday. I think BH wins this game fairly easily unless they just turn the ball over a lot or kill drives with penalties. I think BH will do nothing but continue to get better in the years to come under Westerburg.

Final 50-28. Congrats to the Vidor kids and coaches. I was really impressed with how hard your kids played and the execution was nice. Number 55 at nose was dominating as was most of the team and not afraid to hit for sure. Not sure how old that Simmons kid was but he ran hard and had nice speed. Dayton is 1-22 their last 23 games and it’s hard to watch but I think the kids continued to give good effort even though I’m sure it’s not easy. Oh well glad to see both teams finish injury free and wish all the seniors from both teams the best.

Sterling was beat fairly handily by Manvel 44-26. BH definitely has the best shot at getting out of the first round but you never know.

Santa Fe was outscored in district 154-22 going into the game last night. Really hate to see Dayton football this bad. Well I hope the kids keep their heads up and find a way to get their first district win in 2 years. Vidor will be an extremely tough team to break that streak against but there’s nothing I would like better than to see these seniors go out with a home win.

Stats for the game. Dayton had 45yds rushing on 35 attempts. 2-12 passing for 15yds and 6 fumbles 5 lost. But they did have 5 first downs.

If you take away GP Dayton has scored 7 pts in the other 4 games. Those 7 came against Porter with no time left on the clock and it was totally irrelevant. Be honest with you I have no idea where you would even start to be just competitive. Can’t block can’t get of blocks tackling is below average and have no real offensive or defensive scheme and turn the ball over a lot. Punter is good so that’s a positive and he will get a ton of work this year. I knew when Crosby went for 2 in the first quarter and it was only 13-0 they where basically using this as a scrimmage. I say this because their kicker was really good and nobody in their right mind goes for 2 with a ton of time left in the first quarter unless you have no kicker or just don’t respect your opponent. I really hope these kids get at least one district win and I always want to see our local kids do well. Oh well should feel like football weather Friday night and still think high school football is the biggest bang for your buck in our great state.

+1 They have basically been shut out in 3 out of 4 games. The 7pts against Porter was literally the last play of the game. Hope I’m wrong but Crosby 17-7.

Oh well kids played hard and it was a good night to watch a ball game. Congrats BH and Broncos hold your heads up and keep putting in work.

You can’t teach a kid to be 6”5 and you can’t teach a kid to run a 4.4. Blocking can be taught yet we haven’t been able to block for years now.

Well bad news is Dayton is getting drummed. Good news maybe BH will put a bunch of subs in 4th quarter so Dayton possibly gets a few first downs.
