Newton will play Franklin.  Franklin knocked EC out two weeks ago. They will not give Newton a real challenge.  You have to key in on #20 he is their play maker.  I see Newton winning by 40+.

It has been confirmed for Friday night at 7:30 at Abe Martain Stadium in Lufkin. Anyone needing a football fix should try to make it. I think there will be lots of action (translated : scoring).  ;)

I didn't like playing in that stadium at all. If Newton's used to grass, they won't like it either. Tell them to get some turf cleats if they don't have any already. That field is like carpet.

Thanks for the heads up, but Newton has played here many times. Good field. Turf is comparative to many installed in newer stadiums.

Lufkin's turf seems a little worn out. I think that's what he's getting at, my not feel like turf at some of these brand new stadiums. But I believe Newton will not have any problems!

It's always easy to say things and base those on opinion. Shorter doesn't have the stats to make him stand out for a comparison. The reason is Newton has far too many weapons to rely heavily on Shorter, so he doesn't get as many touches as a lot of the "elite" backs. But I would take him in a heart beat over anyone else. The kid has talent and the mind set to go with it. Franklin will get their chance Friday night to make their minds up about what a great back is. And I think it is Shorter.

Pretty impressive numbers put up by those Eagles Friday night..... ;)  We are making this game.....save my crew and I a seat.....

#20 for Franklin is a good player and you should not sleep on him...  In fact, you should key on him.  Their running game and passing game are geared around him.  They also have a good fullback but i believe Newton will close the holes he has to run in quickly. 

Franklin's defense is where they struggle the most and Newton will be too fast for them.

Here we go again. Have you seen all the backs in 2A. I bet not. Making a statement such as this I know is your opinion and your welcome to it, but just because they beat your Tatum team does not make him superman. I believe Newton will match up better and will contain him to the point of not allowing him to be the game changer. Not saying he won't score or get some yards, but won't beat Newton. And if Franklin's defense has any weaknesses, Newton will find them. Too many weapons and speed for them to contain. Newton has faced "really good Qb's" and "this team is the best Newton has faced so far" and we know how those worked out. Bring the Lions on, the Eagles will be ready. The Newton Eagles.
