Westbrook by 15+ Nederland's Offensive scheme is Horrible
Please enlighten us...I'm sure Coach English would cherish your input  ::)
My guess is that he hasn't seen enough of Nederland ( particularly this early in the season) to know what their "offensive scheme" is.  And who is to say that they don't have multiple schemes, some of which have not been revealed yet because so few games have been played?

The way a team plays as a whole determines their success.
You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world,
but if they dont play well together, the team is not worth a dime.

Hmmm- "know your role" / "play well together"= 6 of one or half dozen of the other
Just because its you that replied, I'm going to disagree with your statement.  >:(
Knowing your role defines what is expected of you  :P As a coach, I'm not going to tell kids " just play well together."  ::) As a coach, I'm going to define each player's role on the team by their strengths and weaknesses.  :P
So, are you implying that West Brook DON'T play together and Nederland does?  Interesting concept...

Let me get this right!
HJ beat Nederland!
Central blew out HJ!
And Nederland is ranked #12 in the state?
While Central is ranked #25 in the state?
As I always say rankings don't win championships!
Not making any excuses but 3 of Nederland's big boys are in football. And are not allowed to even touch a basketball court till after football.

Silsbee still waiting on 8-9 players from football. Can definitely relate.

The football kids will definitely play a big factor in Ned's success this year. However, they would not have made a difference last Monday when HJ made 10-3's in the 1st half and shot nearly 75% from the field (in the 1st half). One of the reasons Central beat HJ is bc HJ only made 2-3's against Central.

In regards to Ned's ranking; it's just that, a ranking. Notre Dame's FB team was not even
ranked in the top 25 in preseason, now they are #1. Lots of Bball to be played between now and March. Central and Ozen will have at least two chances this year to prove they deserve a high ranking. I believe Nederland would be happy not being ranked bc it puts a target on them. Other teams are more inspired to beat a ranked team and usually play harder when they know they are facing a 'ranked team'.

The start of this season has me scratching my head:
-HJ beat Kountze, who beat Silsbee, who beat Central, who beat HJ. Just shows us that these early games have little meaning other than bragging rights and every team is searching for their identity since NONE of them return ALL starters from last season.  8)

Silsbee is close with 4 starters returning and 10 of their top 11 from last year.

I could be wrong, but I think BigDog007 was referring to Nederland's players, not WB?  ???
Nederland returns 4 starters from last year as well, plus 5 other Lettermen (3 who are still playing FB).

Silsbee is in a complete different discussion, IMO. The current team which Silsbee has on the court is definitely trying to find their identity since so many kids are still playing FB. It is beyond impressive what Silsbee has accomplished with a Varsity/JV team thus far. It's scary to think how scary the Tigers will be once FB season is over.  ;)
