Dove, your consistent and undying support has much to do with the fact that the Hawks are still playing this season.  Don't consult the business directory now because I suspect most of the town will be in Hunstville tomorrow to see if the team can pull off yet another upset.

I would be embarrassed if I was clevelands coach you had all that talent and couldn't even take them past the third round coach southerland has beat you with less talent then  you, cleveland needs to think bout getting anothet coach cause he aint very good at all
Tell us how you really feel!!!

Cleveland is very good and does have tons of talent.  Although the two best players on the floor last night were Prudhomme and Gustafson from HJ.  Cleveland had no answer for Prudhomme as he sliced and diced all night long.  Gus, who only scored 4 points (4 FT in the final 2 minutes) in the game but was so much more than scoring.  He had several steals and likely had more assists last night than he has had in a while.

I hope you have two banks because the one at the four-way does not have an ATM. I bet all yall lined up in the trailer now withdrawing cash from the teller :D

What is an ATM?  Is that computer talk? As for the trailer, the withdrawal situation often gets a little heated.  After the total reserves of $200 has been withdrawn, those that couldnt get $ get pretty mad.

Yes prudhomme was the best player on the court last night no question bout it but to have that good of talent the past few years and not take them pass the third round there is no exuses for it

The job Todd, Clay and Jeff do is amazing!!  Best coaching staff in the state of Texas (IMO)!!  I've seen how hard these guys work.  They also have great support from the administration and community.  Congratulations to all the guys as well.  Shaun has really stepped up and assumed that leadership role.  Enough can't be said about the "warrior" Persohn is!!!! Everyone on that team had a huge contribution.  They understand their role....one of the many reasons they are headed back to Huntsville for the FIFTH year in a row!!!  Way to go Hawks!

Come on Zeek, it's a true statement.  You, of all people, would have to admit that HJ has had better talent and not made it to state.  The most recent trip the state wasn't the best or most talented team, but they played together and Coach S got the most out of his talent.
West Sour Lake has tons of talent, but lack discipline.  How many titles do you think West Sour Lake would have if Coach S coached them????

Wow, as always some accurate takes and some misguided ones as well. First, congrats to HJ. I wish Coach Sutherland and the team all the best at regionals. Like it was stated, it's hard not to pull for those kids. I have to give my thoughts on the game last night. It was a compelling game and for the most part hard fought. These two teams are shadows of one another in many ways, but like in years past, the "management" of the teams was the deciding factor once again. The officiating was suspect at times but it always will be. That is just the human element. You can't be right all the time. Coach Sutherland can take decent talent with dedication and turn them into bonafied basketball players. Pruhomme has been talked up all year on this site and he is pretty good not great. His greatest talent is he just plays harder than most. What I'm trying to say is, he gets the most out of what he's got. The best player on that team is Gus. He makes every teamate better and able perform while he does the dirty work. The rest of the team will feel his absence next season big time. I hate to see this type of ending for the Indian seniors. My heart goes out to them, a large portion of their failures were not their fault. I will leave it at that. We have plenty of talent in waiting, our freshman class is legit. Cleveland will be back and maybe better than ever. Great season Indians! We love you guys. Agian, good luck to the Hawks.

I have to respond here.  I would say that if you score 33 pts in a playoff game against an athletic and highly ranked team like Cleveland, you are, in fact, great.  Countless times, Mr. Prudhomme also got rebounds, put backs, and a rather large rejection against a substantially larger opponent who was hailed as unstoppable and the difference maker.  The best thing, IMO is that they seem to often times find a way, when it counts most, to make the unit more effective and I emphasize the word unit.  I also think that it is helpful/motivational to them to continually hear that they dont have much ability, are having a "down" year, played a weak schedule/can't compete against the better teams and are going to lose whatever the next game is.  All of that commentary makes many lie down and submit while it makes some more determined to prove otherwise.
This statement is 100% accurate. Only Estacado would have had a chance against that combination. No, on second thought, not even Estacado would beat them.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
