Nederland has always had a faithful and spirited fan base (as evidenced in this thread). The team seems to be down this year I guess because of injuries. But I'm glad Nederland is doing better as of late, it will make for a better game with Lumberton. Lumberton did not play well against PNG, that is an under statement as they were never in the game from the start. They played a conservative game against LCM last week, but they took care of business and did what they had to do for the win. Lumberton has 8 very good receivers and the QB uses them all. The QB runs very well and much better than Nederland's. The RBs have more depth now than the beginning of the year with the emergence of McDonald. The O line is back and healthy. The run defense is solid, they have three starters back healthy after getting hurt in the Livingston game.  Nederland should expect a swarm of blitzes led by the beast, Anthony Beard. The defensive secondary is ready for the one on one pass defense that goes with the blitz. If Lumberton limits their penalties and turnovers, they will win by 13 points. All said, I expect a very exciting game and what a way to end the regular season! Go Raiders.

Do the Raiders have any formations where all 8 awesome WR's are out there at once?  ::)

lol Jake...I was thinking the same thing...that leaves a QB, center, and one linemen (unless of course they decide to keep a back in for protection)

Come on, give me a little credit.  8 recievers does not mean 8 wide recievers. I was pointing out that the QB spreads it around. He doesn't have or need a favorite target. Several of the RBs, multiple TEs and wide recievers all make up the 8 to who I was referring.

I am just messing with you. It's gonna be a good game. QB Hughes, WR's Sparks and Keith impressed me when I watched the Raiders offense. Brady is the main target for Nederland and is banged up, but the Dogs throw the ball to several WR's and also to the RB's. Should be a great ballgame.

Hard to give you too much credit after some of the statements you have made on this thread, but OK...I will give you the benefit of the doubt...Nederland will need someone to step up at the WR position with Brady apparently out...Brady and Forney really had some nice chemistry going so his loss will hurt...I still think the Dogs can pull this off...Nederland 27, L-town 20

Nothing personal Jake.  Strickly business.  Normally, when Ozen and Ned are in the same district and Ozen wins, they go to the playoffs.  Now they need divine intervention plus a win Saturday to get in.  No matter what Jake, you're my buddy.....

SFA,

Who do you think will win the Lumberton/Ned game? Have you seen Dionte play QB yet? I have been impressed thus far. I think we may end up starting him next year if he keeps playing the way he has the last 2 weeks.

Well, let's just hope for Ozen's sake he doesn't throw for another 200+ yards.  That's all I'm saying.  He get's over 200 yards passing, Ozen stays home no matter what happens Saturday

Is Ozen still running the 2 QB system or have they settled on one?

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
