Does 7 on 7 really give you an idea of how good a team will be in '08?

Much has been made about the success and or failure of teams playing 7 on 7 football and how some teams dominated teams in this league, but didn't do so during 11-man football in '07. So, can we truely gauge a team by what happened  this summer in 7 on 7 and ? I appreciate your comments as we move closer to the start of a new  FOOTBALL season.

All quarterbacks can throw pretty good in the warmups before the game. But only the good ones can throw when they are being chased. All 7 on 7 does is keep the timing of the QB and receivers going.

It sure doesn't hurt!! I've seen QB's improve greatly from 7 on 7.

While any practice helps, that wasn't the question presented by shooter.

Does it help a quarterback rather than sitting at home playing video games? Yes.

Does it help with timing and his receivers? Yes.

Does it predict or gauge how your team will do? No.

Will your quarterback be better for having played 7 on 7? Maybe.

There is no doubt it helps to build a closer group of players that really can serve as core leaders come the fall. It also keeps them all active and that never hurts, but that s pretty much where it ends/
