I dont have the DEC rules, only was texted the point system and that once you go to points you stay w/points...if there's a provision about best mutual record amongst a 4-way tie aka a mini district it would make sense you'd take the teams who are 2-1 in the 3-way tie but w/o seeing the rules in the handbook there's no way to know for sure

They're going by H2H first. I have that confirmed.

Did Coach Morgan text you that?

Do you think LaPorte will rest players Friday?

I really have no idea. I put my thoughts in the 9-5A thread. I don't have a direct connection to the team. If I were to place a bet, I'd bet a 'No.'

Looking at these scenarios, the only difference between them and the point system is the Lufkin and Sterling both win scenario, and Lufkin would be in either way at 5-3. The rest are the same. (Well, RSS would already be technically eliminated in the point system. But, they realistically are in this system as well.)

I accounted for head to head and points if it came down to it. But only points if h2h was tied. But like you said. Not much of a difference.

So basically the Thursday night game of Beaumont United at Baytown Sterling is a playoff game. Loser is out no matter what the other game results end up being. (winner may not get in as well but loser is definitely out)

May have to change my Thursday schedule to this game.

What a headache. Think Stepp was right that UIL should make the tiebreaker universal across all districts.

No doubt.  It’s frustrating for fans to have to guess from district to district.  It’s Week 11 and still nobody actually knows.

I did my best to inform.

My only miss was 9-5A D1. Didn't know their 4 way tiebreaker was head to head first.

All the other district scenarios should be accurate from the info I received from coaches in those districts.

That is correct. Sterling needs a win and a  miracle (Ball over WB and Lufkin over LaPorte). United could miss with a win if Lufkin beats Laporte. Lufkin doesn't want to be in a tied scenario. Ill do another post where I can show everyone how I got there. Might be lengthy.

You did good for sure.  Thank you very much for the translation.  I’m hoping in the future that more than 9 people in the state would know the tiebreaker rules. And they can change every realignment.

Lufkin and United both win would leave

United 4-4

Westbrook 4-4

GCM 4-4

H2H would all be 1-1 against each other now so they go to points where United gets left out mainly because the 28-14 loss to Westbrook. And now Westbrook gets in because they end up +7. GCM ends up at +4 and United ends at -11.

Lufkin loss and a United win would leave

Lufkin 4-4

United 4-4

Westbrook 4-4

GCM 4-4

After H2H United and GCM both get in because they both went 2-1. Westbrook and Lufkin 1-2. No need for points.

Lufkin and Sterling win would leave

Lufkin 4-4

Sterling 4-4

Westbrook 4-4

GCM 4-4

H2H would have Lufkin and GCM 2-1 vs the field and WestBrook and Sterling both 1-2. Lufkin GCM advance

Sterling and Lufkin win followed by a Westbrook loss to Ball would leave

Sterling 4-4

GCM 4-4

Sterling gets in based on H2H win over GCM. United and WestBrook finish district with 3 wins each and Lufkin at 5 wins. No other combo can Sterling get in.

Lufkin and United both lose would leave

Lufkin 4-4

Westbrook 4-4

GCM 4-4

Sterling 4-4

H2H leaves Lufkin and GCM at 2-1 vs the field and both in.

Its senior night, so I doubt it...I know LaPorte's HC is ultra-competitive and considering what happened to them last year in Rd 1 I dont see them taking anything for granted or turning it down Week 11

Believe me…that still stings around here. Great motivator. That’s why you’ll hear people around here say “All gas. No brakes.”

Abseck and staff have history with LP. They know what they’re walking into.

Lufkin is really young this year. 5 sophomores and 1 freshman see heavy snaps on defense and 5 sophomores play heavy snaps on offense too including the QB. Im not expecting Lufkin to win but I think they're capable of making it interesting.  This team is going to be really good down the road.

I would expect nothing less. I’ve seen a couple Lufkin games this year. Before the season began, I had 9-5A as LP, PAM, GCM/Lufkin interchangeable. I still haven’t given up on that prediction. But, I’d obviously prefer it to happen with a loss by y’all and BU. Sorry.

I actually think both are likely.

As far as rest, LP is a lot more than just Simon. He only has 3 games all year with over 20 carries. He still has almost 1600 yards rushing and 21 TD’s. Our Sophomore RB Dieudonne has right at 700 yards and 11 TD’s. So, teams can’t just focus on Simon in the run game. LP is also a lot more balanced this year. About 65/35 mix. (Over 1500 yards passing, 19 TD’s, 1 INT & over 2700 yards rushing with 39 TD’s.)

It’s good to have some Lufkin posters here posting finally. I’m kind of outside the SETX core area also. It’s kinda lonely. 😎
