Right.

My question for a couple of Buna fans. Was this 35-7 win because EC is the better team or was it because of their one transfer? (I don't count the one who came from PA and the other from Manvel. Both those two started at EC)

First off, if there was a lot of talking it certainly wasn’t on this website. Unless I missed something, I saw one comment about EC transfers and I don’t believe it was meant in seriousness, but seemed to be just in good fun. Regarding your comment Aggie, it seems more like a shot at Buna than anything else. That’s fine. EC was most certainly the better team. Their speed will go unmatched in the district, and they’re more physical than what most people think. They’ll beat up on OF as well. They’re that good this season. Buna will still return 19 of 22 starters next season. The turnaround they’ve had is real. However, this season EC is in a different class than everyone else in the district.

There have been several comments from a couple of Buna folks (not just in this thread). I mentioned it was a couple of them, not all of Buna so no it's no shot at Buna.

One or two of the Buna posters (along with an Orangefield poster or two) have always complained about EC and their "abundance" of transfers. You need to go back and look at other threads. 

Has EC received a transfer or two? Yes. (in this season only one can be considered a true transfer since the other two are actually EC kids) But that was not the reason why EC won 35-7 and not 20-14 from last season even though Buna returned a lot from that team. (according to you)

I had EC in this one by 2-3 TD's and my thoughts weren't about a transfer. Just a better overall team.

And that’s exactly what I said in response to you. EC was the better team. No, it’s not “according to me” those are the facts. You can keep on going with the backhanded comments all you want though.

Nothing backhanded here.

Just think a couple of Buna posters are whining too much about a transfer for EC. One particular Buna fan has made a point of it so it seems a bit serious.

I had to edit an Orangefield fan's post making some very baseless accusations about EC and it's athletic program. It's that kind of comments that I would deem as quite slanderous and is not in "good fun".  

I would come on here and defend Buna had the roles been reversed.

Apologies for misunderstanding the intent. One Buna fan isn’t all of us. Most of us were cautiously optimistic about the game and hopeful for a win. We feel like it’s a year early for this team. Only 5 seniors once again this year. Vast majority of the team is sophomores and juniors.

Never said he represented all of Buna. I don't do that to communities. Is why I stated a "couple" of fans. We all have our "those kind of" fans.

I too agree that Buna football has a bright future and I see them making the playoffs this year.

That particular poster. Buna football is a way of life for him. Buna sports is the holy grail and he lives it. lol

Would have been a whole lot worse if EC had wanted.

Meh. I’m not sure about that. Sounds like you’re saying EC pulled everyone for the 2nd half. That didn’t happen. They even started the 2nd half with an onside kick attempt.  Could they have been tinkering around offensively? Sure. They didn’t pull players until about 8:00 or so left in the 4th.

Life long Buna resident, graduate, and fan. A couple positive notes to start. We do have a very talented Junior and Sophomore class a bunch of kids that play crazy hard for each other. They truly have bought in to the team and what they are trying to do. Now some hard facts. We played a powder puff schedule to start the season. Three teams that are not known for good football teams. We did secure a good win against Woodville. The offense is the most predictable I have ever seen. Same snap count every time never ever changing. I know its about establishing a rhythm with the Slot T. Against good teams you can't be predictable. East Chambers did what any good team does played disciplined defense, stayed in their gaps, didn't over run the play, & made clean tackles. We never adjusted at anytime during the game. Trahan just stayed with the script hoping something would change. It was 35-0 at the half so you figure hey we are going to change things up a bit. Nope not one come out and go right back to what hadn't worked the whole 1st half. At this point he is 5-19 in his 3rd year at the helm. We have O-Field and Anahuac back to back. Those will have to be mistake free and excellent games on both sides for us to have a chance in either. If we can pull off and win the last three games which are very winnable. Trahan three year record will be 8-22 after three full years. Year 4 will be a fully loaded squad that will be the defining year for his tenure with Buna Football. I pray it is everything we have been waiting on for almost three years.
