Is it just me or with the possible exception of maybe Vidor is every team in this district significantly worse than last year?

LC-M started off the season last year 0-3.

They are 2-0 this season.

I stated this to a friend; it is possible the team that wins district this year might have finished 4th or worse last year. I agree every team is down this year, Vidor might be a little better but i think the Silsbee isn't near as good as they have been in the last several years.

Silsbee is not in Vidor's district.

Livingston - 1-1 - Playing Kirbyvilly tonight

Huffman - 0-2 - Will be 1-2 after playing Splendora tonight (I think)

Why use DC when the schedules and standings are right here in the football forum?

Point being Liberty is not idle next week. They play Tarkington. Not idle this week, lost to Anahuac last night.

Liberty's bye week isn't until Week 7

Well good news is for those that think the district is down… The district has a much more favorable bi district matchup this year than the last two years with really only Stafford being the only above average team that they have to worry about. Will know more about them after tonight

It’s not that serious lol but if we wanna go there Dave Campbells schedule that they have posted for Liberty has them playing Tarkington next week as well

I am very aware Silsbee is not in Vidors district. I am saying dont get to much from that game Silsbee is not near the team they have been the last several seasons

Yep.  Bridge City losing to Orangefield? LCM is admittedly young this year and they may be 2-0 but I think tonight they get beat by 4 TDs. Huffman's defense, special teams, and most of their coaching is laughable. If they lose tonight against Splendora (very possible) expect things to get a little uncomfortable for the coaching staff. Livingston got blanked 33-0 by a Rusk team that had 1 win a year ago. Vidor was young last year so I expected them to be really good this year. What's surprising is not that they lost to HF, but that they were beat as bad as they were. This district is a toss up.

Huffman is a surprise imo. Dont remember them being down like this since they been in the district with us. Whats the deal? Just no athletes or is it coaching/scheme?

HF matchup was brutal for vidor. 
top it off with just a bad week of practice due to storms.. 

HF speed advantage was clear as day, and the o line was just stellar. Hf played i think a perfect game last friday. If they play like that consistently…. Watch out.

Vidor seems to be at the top of the district this year. They need to cut down on turnovers. 
 

I’ll take LCM second due to their defense and coaching staff. 
 

It is hard to separate the rest but give me BC and Huffman.

The coaching staff is really bad. The head coach has been in that position for 4 years and they've gone 3-7, 1-9, 9-2, and 7-4. The last 2 years were pretty good but that was all they got out of the best talent the school has had in years. Losing last night to Splendora is just embarrassing. They do have some really talented kids on offense. The defense has no talent and more importantly they don't coach technique at all. It's REALLY bad. Next year will be worse. The freshmen group is really good but it won't matter until something at the top changes.
