I really think he is trying to work on the passing game especially deep routes because they are not sharp on them, I said it in earlier posts in other threads but they're not where they need to be it seems like there is issues with timing, etc it is very uncharacteristic for Joseph to run the score up. They are going to need a better passing game in the deep playoffs or they will not be deep in the playoffs. Quote

Is everyone sure this was the right hire for HC, especially with this record and tonight's performance? I remember the news were saying that the Nederland admin did a big search for the best hire for the new HC and all this. And this is what we get!? When your QB isn't accurate, you have receivers who can't catch and limited speed. It's not really on the coach, the plays are much better. The players are not, long gone is the studs. This isn't the dogs of the 2000 or 2010s. This team is legit young, I mean last year they competed and they weren't all that good, just much older, So I think Rich is the right guy. Now where did it go downhill? That's a long topic for discussion....... Quote
ndn2016 Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago In other not necessarily related news the Blue Jays are up 11 to to 2 They've hit 4 homers one of them a pinch hit grand slam. PhatMack19 1 Quote
spidersal Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago If Coach Rich and staff and the Bulldogs are going to have any success in the future, they better address major issues on defense, find a secondary and LB’er coach and on offense find a QB that can throw and receivers that can catch. Their passing game poor! Quote

I think he would've done just as good these pass two seasons if not maybe a little better (which is not saying much) if he was still there. But what do I know, I'm just going by what I'm seeing on the field, and it's not good!!! If they don't win any more games this season...Sheeesh KF89 and Crazyfrog23 1 1 Quote

I don’t think we need those deep pass plays hardly ever, and if Nederland had been better tonight our attempt to do those plays would have given them the ability to get back into it. I guarantee if we’re up against Montgomery, or any good team, and we gift them short drives while trying to execute low-percentage deep passes, they’ll punish us. 1970 1 Quote

spidersal Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago Nederland will finish 3-7 and 1-6 in district after Huntsville and Montgomery beat them. You will have a very hard time winning when your defense is as bad as Nederland’s and you have zero passing game. Hopefully they can address and get some of these major issues fixed before next season. I personally think it is a combination of a lack of talent and poor coaching and some positions Quote

Let's not forget Rich was 60 seconds from being the top seed last year. Now, he hasn't even finished his 2nd year. Heck, Neumann didn't set the world on fire his first 4 years. We need to give him a chance and see what next year looks like. We should see a noticeable improvement! Crazyfrog23 1 Quote
navydawg31 Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago Congrats PNG on the win and covering the -27 spread. Nederland defense you can say what you want they hung tough… Offense put them in some bad spots tonight. That’s not on the D. The D slowed down PNG O for the most part and gave some chances to the O to do something. Nederland Offense on the other wtf was that…. That was horrible. Option plays? -60 something yards.. Running up the middle on 4th and 5? QB looked great running the ball, getting to the corner, should have more designed runs for him… but overall horrendous Offense showing… the play calling was flat out horrendous. Darth Texas 1 Quote
Lamar1996 Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago What a beat down!! PNG is now 8-0 and halfway thru our season. 😜 Quote
spidersal Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago You are correct the offense was really bad, however the passing game is just flat out poor. It is tough to drive the ball when you can’t throw. I really don’t think the defense hung in there- they gave up 49 points(even though 2 were short fields thanks to turnovers) Quote

Even though that long run he had were against PNGs 2s and 3s on defense. Nederland didn't hardly do crap against PNGs starting defense. Is the starting Qb a senior!? navydawg31 1 Quote

Yup horrible play calling after the first time it went so negative should have trashed that play call. But no let’s run it again inside the 20 and fumble again…. Gestring did great and ran tough… kids got a bright future. Quote
