spidersal Posted August 10 Report Posted August 10 My observations on the 1st preseason game defense - absolutely zero pass rush and not much better vs the run DL and Secondary looked like they need a lot of work. Couldn’t tell how the LB’ers performed offense - not much of a run game OL didn’t look very good QB - since we know that Prescott gets injured every season, the Cowboys are going to be in trouble this season If Milton is the backup, things look dim. His performance was not good at all After watching this game I am predicting anywhere from 0-17 to 5-12 and a possibility of being last in the east Way to go Jerry AggiesAreWe 1 Quote
baddog Posted August 10 Report Posted August 10 Cowboys went 0-4 in 1977 pre-season and won the SB in Tony Dorsett’s rookie season against the Denver Broncos 27-10. None of those players were starters yesterday. Landry, on the other hand, played his starters 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and a full game for the pre-season. Now, they ride bicycles or walk the sidelines padless. Landry cared nothing about winning pre-season games because he knew he had to cut players. I did, however, like Grier over Milton, even though Milton had to scramble 90% of the time. Jaguars kicker made a 70 yard FG, but being pre-season, it’s not recognized as an NFL record. Nothing counts. Go Cowboys. AggiesAreWe 1 Quote

spidersal Posted August 10 Author Report Posted August 10 Yes it’s early and time will tell. That’s my initial observation , because I don’t think Prescott will make the entire season without getting injured and even though they are playing players trying to make the team, the defense was not good Quote
spidersal Posted August 17 Author Report Posted August 17 Yes, it’s still early after 2 preseason games, however same result the 1st game DL - zero pass rush and not much better vs the run - giving up about 28 a game - DL coaches are doing a poor job of coaching IMO secondary and LB’ers looked they improved a little offensively- Ol not getting coached any better than DL - absolutely no running game, pass protection so so Milton has played 6 of the 8 quarters and been about as bad as you can be - if he is the backup you better hope Prescott doesn’t get hurt hopefully They will improve before next week Quote
spidersal Posted August 23 Author Report Posted August 23 Good news for the cowboys Milton looked much better tonight and OL looked a little better. At times the defense did well. I know the Falcons are not as good as LA or Ravens, however it was improvement Quote

baddog Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 Done deal. Have to move on. Play the Packers in the 4th game. Better for the team not to be a distraction. Free agency has ruined football, it will ruin college sports too. Quote
spidersal Posted August 28 Author Report Posted August 28 I agree with the trade. If you are going to be successful you have to get rid of the cancer and Parsons was becoming a cancer to the Cowboys ( all about me and not the team attitude). This is happening way too often these days and has trickled down to college with the NIL deals. It’s starting to irritate a lot of sports fans Ty Cobb 1 Quote

baddog Posted August 29 Report Posted August 29 2 hours ago, spidersal said: You said it and I just repeated it Here’s the way I have to view the trade. Micah Parsons is a great edge rusher, no doubt. However, the Cowboys couldn’t stop the run. Parsons has to figure into that equation somewhere. How many teams make the playoffs or win SBs without Parsons? Dallas needs to stop the run and got a good run-stopper in Clark plus two #1 draft picks. We’ll see how that works out but the potential is there. Can Parsons put the Packers over the top? That remains to be seen too. Game 4 will be interesting. Just me, but I look for Parsons to put a late hit on Dak. Oh yeah, I forgot about the $42 million in cap space. Quote
bullets13 Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago I’ve never claimed to like Dak, but he’s been fantastic in the first half. Defense is a dumpster fire, but the offense has been really good. Best Dak has looked in a couple of years, and it’s actually against a good team! baddog 1 Quote
spidersal Posted 7 hours ago Author Report Posted 7 hours ago Yes offense looks good, hopefully will continue in 2nd half. Defense looks like they have never practiced They are absolutely horrible and I’m talking with a capital H. Philadelphia is killing themselves with penalties Quote
baddog Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Some obvious holding calls against the Eagles not called. Some of those could be drive stoppers, but such is the life of a Cowboys fan. Quote
baddog Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Defense gets a sack and holds Eagles to a FG. So many changes on defense. Gotta give em time to gel. Quote
baddog Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Well there’s your typical Eagle cheap shot artist. Then the clown show after the fumble. Quote
baddog Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Defense gets a stop for a final drive. Some people expect perfection with a new HC and lots of defensive additions. Quote
bullets13 Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago @AggiesAreWe hope this doesn’t count… IF you’d told me the biggest deciding factor in this game would be CeeDee Lamb having cinder blocks for hands, I would’ve never believed it. The cowboys have played a really good game. Dak has been very good, the running game was decent, and the defense was excellent after halftime. I assumed we’d lose, but not because Lamb would drop 4 crucial passes, with the first 3 being ones he absolutely should’ve caught. Quote
spidersal Posted 4 hours ago Author Report Posted 4 hours ago Lamb is probably the most overrated and over paid player in the NFL. Every year he drops more than the catches. Tonight was a prime example. The defense played better the 2nd half, but still pretty bad. The killer was probably the fumble when they about to get at least 3. If the defense and Lamb do not improve they may go 0-17 Quote

spidersal Posted 4 hours ago Author Report Posted 4 hours ago Again, you have evidently not watched the Cowboys the past few years are you just don’t know much about sports in general If you think he played good tonight, I would suspect that you took 1 too many dives off the deep end without any water in the pool Quote
