BHFAN Posted yesterday at 01:42 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 01:42 AM Feel pretty good about BH , so far. With a new coaching staff and only returning 6 starters total they are exceeding my expectations. QB had a much better game against a better opponent in week 2, so I see that continuing as he gels with his receivers. Line play looks good and the playbook expanded from week 1. I really think Simper will have this team ready for district barring any injuries to key players. Quote

Feel like the area's of Lufkin's inexperience and youth will all be playing well by district. Pleased with the depth this team has, especially on offense. Varsity is dressing out 64 players, that includes 9 sophomores and a freshmen. Abseck said he would play the best talent he had regardless of the classification, and so far that has been his path. The implementing of the new defensive and offensive schemes have steadily improved each game. Lufkin learned much in the Longview game, there is not a single team in 9-5A that compares to them, maybe not in all Region III. They are a tough 6A out at their home field, don't let the 41-16 score fool you, it was 28-16 when they scored two TD in the last 3 minutes of the 4th quarter, no running the clock in Longview. No doubt in my mind this district race has some parity and will be highly competitive between those the top four mentioned, even Ball, we can't leave them out. Thankful to have BWB, PAM and Ball games in Lufkin this year. im leaving Ball out. one skilled wr. they LOST A LOT. Quote
pakronos Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago I still think the district championship will be either PAM vs Lufkin or PAM vs BH or BH vs Lufkin. I think PAM at worst finish 3rd at best 2nd. I just don't see them beating BH and Lufkin...UNLESS injuries to those teams become a factor. I still think PAM is underachieving. Offense is still out for me. Playing against two HORRIBLE defensive teams doesn't tell me much. What we all learned from this last game, studying film does not exist, or DC has forgot how to play defense, or our defense is OVER hyped and yes it's a team despite how good the front 7 is or all the above. None of the WR's are sure handed, have potential, but not sure handed. Run blocking is actually good, but again, that was against horrible defenses. We still have that big fish in a small pond thing....once outside of the district, PAM is super suspect(besides that joke of a first rd playoff game they play). Hightower coming with it Friday and it's gonna be interesting to see if Coach Kline of PAM finds his manhood and don't go grab a hotdog. Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Also wanted to put this here in the district thread, straight off DCTF: Picks: Positive number = Points Favored; Negative Number = Points Opponent is Favored; PK = Push; NP = No Pick. Also again I've seen computer projections different than the point spread on team pages. Seen some folks on different sites confused by it. Quote
