Paredes is worse than they thought.  Brown says months not days or weeks.  Would like Pena and Meyers back for sure.

have reinstated OF Jacob Melton from IL and DFA'd 1B/DH Jon Singleton IF Luis Guillorme has cleared waivers and been outrighted off the 40-man roster. He has chosen Free Agency.

Well a 12K 3 hit 1 run pitching gem by Valdez wasted by no hitting.  King comes i and gives up HR 2-1 loss.

Houston with another loss. 2-1 to Nationals.

Astro pitching gave up 2 runs on 4 hits and recorded 19 K's.

Astro hitting has really fallen off the last 10 games but mainly because 4-5 of the hitting lineup are minor leaguers.

This was the Astros 107th game played and 101st different lineup.

Talk about makeshift lineups. Sheesh

Yes it's crazy but what can tou do?  All teams even healthy teams go through slumps.  So I looking for them to rebound at some point.  Still early

7-4 win pretty much mundane game.  Hader 28 saves.  We needed that

Correa back to Astros?  If so, hope they can keep from paying the full salary due over the next few years.  Also hope not much is given up for him.  He has some leverage with his no-trade clause and reports are stating he will wave it for only the Astros.

He turned down a 5 year, $160 million deal to go to the Twins. I say no deal. I’m happy with Peńa. He’s an excellent SS and his bat is much needed. Hope he comes back soon.

Pena said he's ready and is supposed to be on the plane to Boston tonight after Nationals game.  We'll see.  Scored 2 times last night with no hits but walked and HBP in Sugarland.

IMO the way Correa did to leave here, we don't need him back.

Yes, I wondered that too, but then Paredes to 1st? DH? Just as you stated a few post back, the Astros haven’t been afforded the luxury of a solid starting lineup.

Last game I attended was against the Twins. Lots of fans booed Correa while I applauded him. Think I already posted that. I don’t hate him, I just hate that there’s no loyalty in sports, and the Astros offer was not shabby at all. Yeah, I know, old school.

Paredes might be done for the year. At least two more months. By that time, teams are allowed to expand their rosters. I can see him splitting time at first with Walker and getting some DH time if Alvarez isn't back or when Alvarez plays leftfield. 

Bottom line, Houston desperately needs a left handed batter in the lineup.

Jose Altuve was 4-for-4 with a three-run home run to tie his single-game career high with his Astros record 41st four-hit game. He is hitting .363 (33x91) with 7 doubles, 1 triple, 5 HR, 21 RBIs, 11 walks, 20 runs scored, 1.055 OPS in July.

Sounds good. They do need a lefty bat.

Mariners lost and Rangers won.  Stros back to 5 up with the other 2 tied for 2nd.

Picked up Gold glove 3rd baseman Ramon Urias from Baltimore.
