Yes, they count. Texas did everything in their power to allow AZ to win the game. Fake punts, roughing the punter, several PIs, safeties…..you name it, we did it. Arizona played well enough to win, but Texas’ defense didn’t allow a TD till late in the game. Texas needs to learn to play 4 quarters and not sit on leads after quick scores.

And stubbornly calling east-west run plays when facing a small/quick front 7. Should’ve pounded it up the middle at will.

To me, a bye only allows a team to possibly get healthy. It has never meant you are more prepared. It can also stop momentum. Just my two cents.

For all Texas made mistakes and there are serious weaknesses, in the past two games we’ve beaten the ACC champion and the Big 12 champion (and were three points shy of an SEC championship) three weeks ago. With all the mistakes and missed opportunities, we’re doing a lot right too.
