Woodville Deep Run in next 5 years even State!!

Recommended Posts

Wasn't Woodville supposed to make a deep run in 18'? I know that Woodville fans talked mad crap on the fssw app. Some even came to the Franklin forum talkin trash... Idk if that was because we were #1 in 3ad1 at that time or what and they wanted smoke idk... I have no I'll will towards Woodville but from the outside looking in give me newton 28+ if Woodville wins I will eat my crow

Ran into Grandview second round in 2018. Grandview ended up winning state that year although EC gave them a good game 4th round. Pretty sure we could have beat Grandview if we had a better offense. That won’t be an issue this year. Also the pre-district schedule will have us better prepared for tougher competition

Lion has a point. We probably had a better more athletic and senior heavy team than now. We still have the same HC. The difference as always is coaching. We all see the talent and have since these kids were in pre school.  I am afraid that once again with all of the talent and speed that will be on the field it will be wasted.

HC isn’t the best in the world but he’s probably the best we’ve ever had at Woodville in my opinion. He also has a better DC and OC now. The ‘18 team was more talented but I think this team is more motivated.

Brandon Craus's presence in control of the Woodville Offense will be very visible this year. I am not saying they are going to blow the world up... but just wait, you will see a difference.

Not necessarily. This just means we have Newton type talent and have had for the last 4 to 5 years. There are 2 very good years left . We will see if anything changes or not. Anything less than 4 rounds deep will be a failure and disappointment.

That really depends on the luck of the draw. You never know who you’ll get in the 3rd or even 2nd round for that matter.

Newton type talent huh? Interesting....I’d be willing to make a friendly wager that they won’t make it 4 rounds deep either of the next two seasons... 🙂

Sounds good. Should be a good game with Newton. Newton still has a young team, a lot of sophomores that were starters this year that will be juniors next year. E. Chambers is losing a lot of Players. Just might be woodville’s year.

Newton returns the entire OLine and 2 good RBs. Don’t lose a whole lot on defense either. The LB, Foster, was really impressive at the track meet. Woodville will have to play at a really high level to beat Newton. EC may not be an easy win either. They lose a lot on offense but they do return the QB, Perrault. He’s a playmaker.

We ran into grandview as well in 18 in the 3rd round and lost by 3 (24-21) with a chance to win it... We had the #1 ranked defense in 3AD1 that season as well...

Did woodville beat E. Chambers in 2018.  I am sure they could have beat Grandview if they had scored more points then Grandview. A lot of teams lose because they don’t score more points then their opponent.

Only loss was to GV in 2018. And yea, you normally win when you score more points than the other team. LoL

A lot?  One good say that ALL teams lose because they don't score more points than their opponent.

    • The locals have almost finished firing the first ever Speaker of the House from Southeast Texas upon direct order of Trump and his minions.   It's a sad day... Locals have decided that being represented by the most powerful man in the House didn't mean anything.... they'd rather a political novice to represent this part of SETX.  And why is that?  He wasn't MAGA enough for them.  Who cares that it will hurt locally... What Trump says, goes.     Just yesterday I saw Trump on television demanding that we fire Phelan... How he's a RINO, weak on the border, etc... why?  Because he wouldn't overlook the criminal actions done by Ken Paxton, one of Trump's key supporters in the effort to overturn the 2020 Election and allow Trump to remain in office despite the will of the voters.   Trump never even mentioned Covey's name, and I doubt he would recognize Covey if Covey walked up with a cup of coffee.  Who cares that it's bad for SETX?  Not the R voters from SETX!   Then I saw Covey's preacher on a different ad tell a bald face lie.  Why should Phelan be fired?  "He put Democrats in positions of power in the House."  Really?  That's been the position of BOTH parties for as long as anybody can remember.  They ALWAYS give the minority party committee chairmanships.  But in 2022 the Rs decided that the practice should stop.  Democrat voters should not be allowed a voice in the crafting of legislation if there is a single majority Republican seat in the House, according to the Rs.  Representative Government?  Never heard of it, huh? Never did I believe that we'd have an abortion ban, constitutional carry, huge cuts for school property taxes, and Texas law enforcement being greenlit to enforce immigration law.  But it all happened while Phelan was speaker.  Without a doubt, the most conservative Speaker, ever.  But still a dirty RINO for not being MAGA enough.  It would be funny if it weren't true.   I've been following politics long enough to remember when Rs couldn't get elected in Texas... I'm confident that we're headed back that direction.  I mean, it's obvious that with population shifts we'll be turning blue eventually.  I think that the behavior of the leadership of the Republican Party is going to cause that shift sooner than expected.  I won't be surprised to see Democrat Senators and possibly even a governor elected within 12 years.  Maybe less.  The Rs will be a party apparatus without a voting base behind them.
