My reasoning for hoping Vidor pulls in at the 4th spot is basically I like the grit they play with.. They are always out talented, out athleted, and every time I see them play they have a large crowd and give it 100%... People like to knock the offense, however that's the best offense for lack of talent.. IMo Mathews does a hell of a job keeping those kids playing hard after losing year in year out...  And to his credit, he has stuck around, it can't be easy to do so... So my picks are in alphabetical on page 1, but I think Vidor pulls in at #4..... I'm throwin my V's up..........

Not sure about now, but back in the mid 80s when my son played, biggest problem at Vidor was Tradition, or lack of.  Two 8th Gd teams, both real good.  My son smallest starter on the line of either.  By his Senior year, he was the biggest.  Why?  All the big guys quit to do, well, whatever.  Doubt Ned or PNG has a big problem with that, because of their Tradition.  That "T" means a lot.  I envy programs that have it.

I do appreciate the fact that most of you know that the ones who do play, give it everything they have.  Hell, win or lose on the football field, I'm happy with kids like that.

Gotta love how he conviently leaves out the fact that 3 of those winning seasons has happened in the last 4 years and 4 of those winning seasons has happened in the last 6 years. That along with 3 playoff appearances and one year marching to the 3rd round!

Can someone please tell me when was the last time Lee went 3 rounds deep???

nothing at all was left out, the 20 yr history is all inclusive. Using your logic, i should have listed all the yrs where the teams were "WINLESS"  in district and or pre-season.  Which in turn, would have been met with more despite and ire from both alumni bases.  The fact, that you had to say, that i "conveniently left out" that 3 of the 6 over the last 20 yrs have come under this regime, should be welcomed by the Raider faithful, because for those 17 yrs you "conveniently" dont want to discuss, Lumbertons 4 winning seasons trump vidors 3.  I appreciate your loyalty to the Pirates and that you stand up for your boys. However, your misguided comment about Lee, is, in the words of Skip Bayless, Assa-9 Assa-10 Assa-11, Ell Roberson took them 3 rds deep in 2000 i believe, and then olins step-son Drew tate took them deep in the mid 2000s, My brother was the secondary/LBs coach during both of those runs. And if i remember correctly, Vidor was in that dist for quite awhile playing REL and RSS, getting their hats handed to them on a weekly basis.  Youre like the other guy i replied to earlier(weird how similar your views are, and you pull for the same team) they always told us not to drink the water in vidor, guess they should have warned yall not to drink the kool aid. Your football program for years has been one hell of a gritty, never say die group of kids, but all the best intentions and fight till the last whistle, dont earn Ws on your record. Perhaps they learned more valuable lessons than wins and losses, but for this arguments sake, wins and losses are what we have delved into, and Vidor and Lumberton, do lead all of 22-5A in one category, and that would be # of losses over the past 20 seasons. Oh, Vidor definitely gets my vote for best halftime "experience" i have ever been apart of, GCM played in vidor for their HC game last year, and the fireworks and fire lit candles on every yard line, along with all of the students who worked so hard to put together such an awesome display of school spirit and town pride, should be commended for their efforts, it was amazing!! GOOD LUCK 22-5A IT SHOULD BE A GOOD ONE

Neumann has kept basically the same staff for his entire tenure. I believe DeRouen and Barrow are his only O coordinators, and Spell his only D coordinator.  Cohesivness and consistency are vital in building a COMPLETE program. Faircloth is a great qb coach and a good offensive mind. However, he has in his 6 or so year tenure had an almost 100% turnover in asst coaches. A few have left for greener pastures, and some have just left. Make of this what you will but, Im of the opinion that it hasnt necessarily been to his benefit. I see a battle for the DC this year, with no clear cut frontrunner.  Im just glad we have the ace in the hole..............Neumann....... Go ahead, call me a homer!!!!!!!!

I feel you on this one. Having the same staff provides great dividends while loosing coaches every year kills consistency most of the time. Suggs lost his DC from last year but finally has a full staff at Ozen and If he can learn his coaches and players strengths while keeping his staff In tack, I see a possIble DISTRICT Championship coming.

Not sure why this is even a topic of conversation.

how accurate is this? They got Lee playing 6 non-district games with 6 district games in 01 and have Lee beating freaking High Island in 06, that is totally incorrect.

They aren't the most accurate site in the world.  I have offered to provide missing scores but they haven't taken me up on it.

Lee has been to the playoffs 11 times the last 20 years. They have 6 playoff wins. Lee has advanced out of the first round 5 times in that span and to the third round once in '97. Lone Star Football is usually only good for playoff games.
