bullets13
I remember looking at the Astros stats earlier in year when they had their huge lead in the standings, and just about everyone except for Altuve was batting .230 or lower. I didn't think they could sustain their lead hitting like that, and it's finally coming back to bite them. That being said, they're still very much in this race, and they're ahead of schedule. It was supposed to be another year or two before they were going to be in pennant races. Astros fans have a lot to look forward to over the next several years with the offensive core and pitching staff that they've put together. baddog
They're very exciting to watch. They can sweep the Dodgers and win series against the Yankees and K.C., but they struggle with the Rangers. I haven't figured that one out yet. BTW, there are games yet to be played. Hopefully we can make it very interesting.
BS Wildcats
Bet the Astros wish they had Mark Melancon back, with the way their bullpen struggles. He picked up his 50th save for the Pirates today.
baddog
Stros about to win this series with the Rangers and put them 2 1/2 games back and in the wild card lead.
baddog
Rangers finish with 3 games against the Tigers and 4 against the Angels. It ain't over and I never give up, even though it sometimes looks bleak.

baddog
The announcers said the Stros had the lead for the wild card. I apologize for reporting bad info.
JSnipes
As much as I hate to say this, the Astros are probably done. Even though their remaining six games are against bad teams, they are all on the road and the Astros are awful on the road. I say 3-3 at best and that's not going to get it done. I hope I am wrong and they go 6-0 or 5-1. If they can do one of those two, they might win the division.

PhatMack19
Astros will play the Yankees Tuesday at 7pm on ESPN. The Yankees are currently losing by 3 runs and the Astros trail by 2 in the 8th. The Astros need to win and have the Yankees lose to host the game. If not the game will be at Yankee Stadium.
