My dad used to have a tape with the remake of "My Girl" and it was called "My Mustangs" has anyone heard this or still have a recording?

 

We used to listen to it on the way to every single game!

I have not heard that one, but I remember the one" Ain't no stopping us now", by McFadden and Whitehead I think lol.

I definitely remember that. That was from back in the 80's when the state championships were won. Haven't heard it in a long time but I think of it every time I hear that "my girl" song. Lol

Yep I remember that being played at the community pep rally before the 88 state title game with Paris. We all know how that game tired out!

I think I may remember that song. I was 6 during '86 but remember quite a bit. My sister was a filly captain so my parents drug me to every game and pep rally. I remember something funny. My mom had a black full size dodge van and dad had put some type of horn/music keypad in it. One of the songs was the William Tell Overture(Wos fight song). He would push a button and the song would play over the horn of the van. He would play it driving into the parking lot of all the games. I got a kick out of it.

He also said that Earl Droddy(WO Police) had one too in his patrol car. Back then, WOPD would escort the Drill team and band. He would play it too while he escorted them.

Y'all said it was 86 when this song came out. It may be but I first heard it before the 88 final.

I remember that song, it was really cool. A local radio station or two played it often during the playoff runs. It would be nice to have it played again on radio and I would love to have a copy. It was to the tune of " My girl" by the temptations. I know long time Mustang fans remember.

I'm pretty sure they played that song during pre-game warm-ups at a playoff game in the 'Dome.  Mid eighties.
