#62jjohnson Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 I couldnt tell you i was just commenting on the score and from the looks of it , it was over before it started . Ask the person that finally put the final score up , that took a long time too post that score when all the other scores were up . Didnt take long last week . I want too see myself i will be looking for highlights or some kind of film on what hapened . From the looks of it a sefwnsw shut down the slot t and their offense does what their offense does . mighymouse490 1 Quote
Sports10 Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 What was LG doing on offense (besides scoring) Whatever they wanted, but mostly running the ball. OF had a couple of picks early, but it seemed they were just working on their passing game, because there was no reason to leave the ground game. I know it's hard to believe, but this score could easily have been much worse. LG was SIGNIFICANTLY bigger, faster and stronger. I knew they would be good, but with the new classifications I really didn't think there would be a mismatch like that. Not that OF was world beaters, but they were a well coached scrappy bunch. Good luck to HJ and anything can happen, but I don't think it will be close. Quote
Jwat222 Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Ok here goes... 5 and 22 are play makers. Honestly have not seen that kind of speed all year. Without them its a different game unfortunately for us they were there. Best defense so far. Pulling for HJ but really cant see them beating LG. Would like to say WOS is closer but I'd be lying. LG wins it all. Quote

Jwat222 Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 HJ please listen.....throw the dang ball!! It is the only way you will even have the slightest chance to beat these guys. They will line up 10 of the biggest and fastest high school kids I've ever seen and dare you to try and run the ball. Quote

LG wins it all. I saw Carthage last year and that team was better than this year's La Grange team. Combine that with the fact that I think that this year's WO-S team is better than last year's. So IF the two teams met, WO-S would have a good chance at winning. On offense, La Grange is a one-trick pony in the sense that the run the ball. But that one trick is really really good and they have two great RBs that can do it. But if a team dares them to pass the ball and is athletic, which I think WO-S is, they can slow La Grange down enough. Gasilla 1 Quote
Jwat222 Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 You are right about their passing game. It is rather suspect but does work at times. Its true that those ponies only know one trick, it just sucked for us that the trick was how to score from anywhere on the field at any given time. Quote

But the La Grange RBs made them miss some too. It's crazy that No. 5 is the "2nd" RB for them. Like Coach Smalley said to his boys after the game, no need for them to hang their head. Solid season, won a play off game for the 1st time in 11 years. Acknowledge the not so good but celebrate the good. Definitely more good than bad for Orangefield thi season. bcrock 1 Quote
#62jjohnson Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 i think the 2013 team was better than this team especially at qb no slight to the young man qbing now cole just looked /looks like a natural . the 2012 team was better than the 2013 team hands down !!! you could not have told me they werent gonna win state , until i saw they were on a collision course with navasota . anything can happen in these games we will just wait and see how it unfolds . wos is in this every year so its nothing new , i just think some people are asking the question when will WOS get passed qtr finals and make it to semis and then the finals . some folks i have talked too seem to think that with the talent they have year in and year out they should have won more state titles . We're hoping WO-S gets that chance. If not, we welcome playing HJ again. Right now, all of the WO-S focus in on LaMarque. One game at a time. Quote

I believe WOS's speed will give them a chance, the problem I see is the offensive and defensive lines for LG are so big and fast it's hard to contain them. WOS may be able to deal with this I just don't see how HJ will. However I will be pulling for both and will make the WOS-LG game so long as they make it past LM. Quote
