Is it AtomicDawg or DemDawg I get cornfused sometimes. Point in fact my wife and I were at the SC/KP game last year there were several KP drives SC couldn't stop. And on each drive your SC fans were dawging the heck out of the team and coaching staff, so don't pipe off on Dayton fans if there was a State championship for dissing your own team most of your 10,0000 fan base would win hands down. :) ;) :D ( don't say I wasn't at the game because there was a hat going around for donations for a young person who had experienced some tragic incident and I donated ) And please,please don't compare me to the Cowgirl fans that's hitting below the belt! ;D

From the goal line to the 25yd line was nothing but purple and denim.  Had to wait for play to move past that point to enjoy the scrimmage.......... Actually that "poor" sitting next to me was wondering ,"how many dang on jet reverses and reciver screens are we going to run?", his words, not mine.................

For what its worth from the point of view of a neutral party (neutral as far as 19-4a is concerned), its important to remember that both teams played kids in different positions and kids who probably wont see much playing time in the second half.  The halftime score was 7-3 and Friendswood scored on a big play, not by methodically driving the ball down the field.

The second half score really doesnt matter as much because it was 2s and 3s much of the time.

Bottom line:  When both teams were playing their 1s (or at least the kids the coach thought would be 1s) the scrimmage was close.  I think Dayton sustained better drives in the first half than Friendswood and Dayton's defense was good against the run.  If I was a Dayton fan I'd be encouraged by my Defenses performance and optimistic about my QB.

[/quote]thanks. I think friendswood will be a playoff team as usual and I didn't expect dayton to roll against friendswood. Some sc fans are just looking to bash dayton. Like I said in an earlier post dayton doesn't schedule teams like friendswood and Nederland for nothing. Both teams are proven winners and give dayton players and coaches the opportunity to see quality competition before the season starts.

Maybe its because I'm not a Dayton fan that I feel like I'm more objective about the Broncos play in their scrimmage against us, but I dont see any reason for concern or panic for Dayton fans.

1) In the second quarter, Dayton had an 11 play 60+ yard scoring drive that ended in a field goal.  The QB looked good and moved the ball against our 1s on D for a score.

2) Friendswood's three touchdowns were all on pass plays of more than 20 yds (not sure about the third one).  Friendswood will probably live and die by the big play this year.  The first TD was some kind of blown coverage and the second was just a pretty good throw by our QB against good coverage.

3) In the second half Dayton's offense moved the ball against our 2s as they should -- scoring 14 points.

I just dont see any cause for concern there, particularly considering it was the first scrimmage of the year against an equal opponent.

Sorry for making so many posts on this thread, but this was the only game I've seen so far this year so what else am I going to post about.

Got my vote to move that DL freshmen(da Hulk) a dominant force in the middle w/fast feet to the varsity team.FW doubled teamed him & he pushed them aside to make pounding tackles.That kid is at least 6'3 290 ish.Coaches must have high 5'd him 6 times ;)
