Well being Dayton played last night... Anyone going to see another game tonight? Which one...
OH and PS... I would have posted this question on the games that are being played tonight.. but wouldn't want to get mary all flustered by "jacking" someone elses thread...  ;D
I think I might go watch Huffman(4-1) at Cleveland(5-1).

My favorite one is not on your list.

So us beating Dayton last year because we "suck" is an excuse for Dayton's performance?  I think you misunderstood the question..... ;D ;D
I understood the question, I just like saying that.

The real reason, which is not on the list either, is Dayton won't take a knee when someones hurt.

Rofl, tell that to the north texas coaches there for tebo and the many colleges after mosley. When do you think they quit? They tried, they were outmatched. Simple. Wait.. you're right. Huffman was full of d1 players and Liberty didn't even have a player that could make practice team at Lamar. You're right.
That means that the Huffman player they were matched up against was better, and if Huffman doesn't have any D1 talent then well...

Wow, after we smash a team that ya'll tought was something, it gets reeaaaallllll quite bout them dawgs. I've been sitting back reading all week. Now everyone's all, "Summer Creek's for real", what happened to all the "summer's eve jokes"?. BH, Dayton , don't think ya'll are getting any brownie points for sucking up. Sorry to say you guys are still on the chopping block. When it comes time for playoffs, 20 4a, ya'll in trouble !!!!!! If you said nothing,I'm not talking to you, but you know who you are. You're writing checks that your teams can't cash.#newkidsontheblock

"Let sleepy dogs lie", thats exactly what SC is not, at least their fans anyway. Ya'll been yappin' and flappin' your gums since you got here. SC is getting so much love because Crosby and BH want to see Dayton lose. They'll be watching and supporting Dayton again come Mid-November, and SC ya'll are welcome to jump on the Post-season Bronco band wagon too, it's all good
No more than you bronco fans. Problem is you all thought it was all talk :o
I wasn't impling that some Dayton fans don't do the same.  ;D

I'm no football genius but some of our fans fit in nicely with the sterotypes with which we have been classified.

7. New Online Identification Guide to Texas Marine Organisms Available

AUSTIN — Ever encountered a weird sea creature that defies description? Caught a saltwater fish but don’t quite know what kind it is? Now there’s an easy way to identify whatever it is you’ve run across.

Launched this summer, the Identification Guide to Marine Organisms of Texas has been compiled from decades of data by TPWD Coastal Fisheries biologist Brenda Bowling and is a great resource for anglers, biologists, beach combers and others who want to know more.  The new online tool uses photos, detailed descriptions and other descriptors so that users can identify and learn more about the mystery creature they have found.

Hosted and supported by Texas A&M University Galveston, the site offers detailed photos and descriptions of fish, crab, shrimp, mollusks, marine vegetation, sea turtles, and other marine organisms.  Each species is represented by photographs, and brief habitat descriptions, distinguishing characteristics, differences from similar species, maximum sizes, and other pertinent information.

The designers took into account the varying identification skills of any given user and developed a query system – easier to use than technical taxonomic keys – that allows the user to narrow down a species based on general features, such as mouth type, tail shape, dorsal fins and other distinctive features. A glossary of technical terms used with drawings and photos of specific features and diagnostic characteristics of each group of organisms is presented to assist in identification.

The site offers all the tools necessary to allow anyone from the layman to the marine biologist the ability to identify just about any marine organism someone may find in Texas.  And for anglers, there is an easy-to-use length and weight calculator than can provide the average weight per a given length for more than 100 species of fish.

The site currently contains descriptions of 422 marine species and is considered a living document.  It will be updated as more species, better photos and new information are documented in the future.  Anyone who still cannot identify the sea creature they have encountered is encouraged to send clear photos to Brenda Bowling at [email protected].  To access the site go to http://txmarspecies.tamug.edu.

8. Operation Game Thief Tips Can Now Be Sent by Text

AUSTIN – Just in time for fall hunting season, the Operation Game Thief wildlife crimestoppers program has a new tool expected to increase the number of tips received as well as game law violation convictions.

Effective immediately, in addition to calling the OGT 24-hour tip hotline at 800-792-4263 (GAME), anyone wishing to report a possible game law violation will be able to provide information via texting that could still qualify for a possible cash reward.

Called Tip411, the new program will give the public the option to text information directly to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department communication operators.

This is how the new system works:

•From your cell phone enter 847411 in the TO: box
•Then enter tpwd (not case specific) in the message box, followed by a space
•Type a message and send
•The dispatcher will then be able to communicate with the complainant if further information is needed
All standard text message charges still apply.

OGT will be keeping records and monitoring how well this new technology works for improving public reporting.

The new application has been tested with several different devices, including iPhones, Blackberries, and regular cell phones with texting capabilities and is now up and running.

OGT averages 1,500 calls a year, many resulting in the filing of game law violation cases and some of them leading to arrests for felony crimes.  This new technology is expected to increase the number of citizen calls received.

Begun in 1981 as a result of laws passed by the 67th Legislature to help curtail poaching, the OGT program offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction for a wildlife crime. OGT is a function of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Law Enforcement division and has been responsible for the payment of over $200,000 in rewards and the assessment of well over $1 million in assessed fines.

Privately funded, the program is dependent on financial support from the public through the purchase of OGT merchandise and memberships, donations, sponsorships, and gifts. The program also hosts annual fundraising events, including the Permain Basin Claystoppers Shootout set for Oct. 5 at Jake’s Clays in Midland and the Clay Stoppers Shootout on Oct. 12 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio.

For more information on OGT and these upcoming events, visit the program’s website at www.ogttx.com

I like how jasper is ahead of coldspring in this ranking, yet coldspring is #16 in DCTF. That's quite the knee slapper. Ha!!!
Why is that so funny?

WO-S beat LC-M 18-0, who beat CS 35-20.  WO-S beat Jasper 17-7.  3a Silsbee also beat LCM, which beat CS.  So by that logic WO-S, Silsbee, and Jasper are all better than Coldspring.

None of this means anything at all, but we have nothing else to rank the teams on since they haven't played each other yet.  We have to make assumptions like every poll, and I feel we have a lot more local knowledge than Dave Campbell.
Well said, its a poll people, lighten up. It doesn't affect the outcome of anything. :o

29-14 Nederland  Livingston may have speed but, they in my opinion have not played against a D like Nederlands yet this year.
Ahh, OK. Livingston might just make a game of this, don't count them out just yet.

Livingston in an upset 24-21.

1. Carranco is great
2. BH envy of Dayton
3. BH will be lucky to make the playoffs
4. Dayton has played the best teams in the state and are undefeated
5. BH has two dollar stores
6. Get your playoff tickets at DQ
7. Dayton smells better than BH because of all the "Oil Refineries" (not that they know what a refinery is).
8. BH does not have the speed to stop Dayton
9. Dayton has 54 reasons to beat BH
10. AND my Favority Dayton Hi-Jack.  "My daddy slept with a goat"

BH will roll Humble, and yes it is sad to see them fall so hard.  Reminds me of Dayton.
I hope this works! But I doubt it will.

Humble doesn't stand a chance and everyone knows it, just send the JV and get your Friday night starters an extra night off.

Yes, you are clueless.
We shall see........ Wanna make a bet on how the top 10 finish?  Crosby - Under-ranked; Summer Creek - Under-ranked; PAM - WAY OVER RANKED.

Need to balance out those votes a little........way too much East of the Trinity influence.  Now, don't go say the former (and Smart) WOS and PNG alumni who live West of the Trinty counts....... ;) ;) ;)
