  1. Then zones just clog the lane and dare Central to shoot them out of it. Central's  Defense needs the big man on the back side to protect the rim, thier man defense is too aggressive , so when u beat the on ball defender the lane is open cause everyone is playing their man so tight.  The big man could roam like Toe Toe and block shots.  Right now the paint is open for great slashers to put up big numbers

  2. They are playing a very pro game, almost Lebron like... Tj and Nijal take turns breaking down defenders off the dribble to either get their own shot or make the right pass. Only problem is that supporting cast needs time to vrow and high school zone defenses can shut it down, especially if the defense has length or if the supporting  cast is not hitting shots. Then it becomes can your two  beat my team.

  3. The players that need to step up are not young, tgey just have low to no varsity experience.  I hope Frank stops playing for the ranking and starts playing for the playoffs now. TJ and Nijal usage is way too high. Other kids need to get their feet wet so that they can have time and experience for the playoffs.  Number 14 needs to play more to give TJ and Nijal an opportunity to play off the ball and burn less energy.  20's role needs to be clarified, he could be an enforcer, the 3 point shooter needs to move a little more to get open, he can be really good. And the youngsters need to know when it is OK to shoot.  All this stuff is small and i am sure Frank can get it together.

  4. You Central cats are hilarious! You talk all summer about how good your team is and how great your coach is. About how your going to have the best team in the area and win state. You LOSE your first two games and now try to make it winning with excuses and moral victory quotes. Lmbo... I didn't say anything about Ozen but, what's the difference in their 0-2 and Central's 0-2? Please help me understand that, you smart guys! Lmbo...

You are hilarious... Why shouldn't Central be amped up about the team after a dismal recent history?  Why shouldn't they brag about the athletes, if they are there.  Why wouldn't they feel good hanging close with team bigger Teams that have blasted them in recent years?  I heard no excuses, I see proud fans on this board giving the teams that won the games props and still being proud of their team in gracious losses.  I mean, what should they say?  "We are trash and won't win a game in 5A this year since we lost to two 6A schools!!   We should give up now"  No!  they should talk about the shortcomings, celebrate the moral victories, and live to fight again!  With great expectations there is always the possibility of disappointments! We are adults and we all know this!

  6. It was not that the Zone is a bad defense, just the way they ran it was bad!  The  Box and 1 that started the game was unnessasary, and the 2-3 that they shifted to was too shallow for a decent shooting and cutting team.  The Paint man on the two three was too far under the goal and the back side guard rotated too far.  It seems as if they run the press and man-to-man better than they run a half court Zone.  Since thet team had no bigs it may have been better to run a 3-2 instead, but it would have to be run right.

Overall, it was a good showing and central played well in the half court offense. The guards need to watch throwing the ball into the corner after crossing half court and they need to watch over penetration.  Good job Jags!
  7. I am glad you revealed yourself WR84...  It has been quite evident over the past three years that Central had a pro-style quarter back, yet the coaching stafff forced him to play in the spread.  Why is that?  Especially when Central did not have the o-line to run a spread attack. Establish the run down hill, run the bootleg, and play action pass.  It jus seemed from my "untrained eye" though Mitchell was fast he wasn't laterally quick and the O-line wasn't great, why put him in those bad situations?
