  1. The funny thing is how this game is being judged by the HJ HOOPrameter!!! When Central played HJ they had a different rotation.  Correct me if I am wrong, the Freshmen and Sophmore begin the assention into starting and supporting roles.  It is funny to say youngsters have made a difference, but they have.  I do not think this is the same Central team that lost to HJ back in November.  The learning curve for young players is exponential and I bet they are waaayyyy better now!

You should go to the Travis/NS game.  You run your blood pressure up these days at Central games.  I can imagine how animated you would be at a 3rd round Central Playoff game.  ;D ;D

That is the same way I feel!
  3. Stevie Jackson was recruited... To go to Oakhill!!!! That was recruiting.  The West Side of PA is the hood and most of the kids on the West Side go went to lincoln.  Back in the 80's and early 90's TJ was nearly 50-50 on its minority to majority ratios. Once Gamble became the coach, it was all about PA Lincoln and winning. Gamble is not a recruiter and neither was Boutte.  Ozen BBall was big because it was a new school.  You see the kids starting to flood back to central & Westbrook now that the new school nostalgia is gone!
  4. Yeah DV I dont think Wifey is playing that one, and you would confuse the kids!  I can see her going off now.  I seen you around the ladies and I dont think Steve is pretty enough to catch your eye. lol. I guess people are mad at you for stating your opinion too strongly.  Honestly, I know we have no state bound teams in SETX and I question Nederlands overall ceiling too.  Its the tone of you voice DV... Like the women say, it aint what you say, it's how you say it! lol.. I did not think that counted with men.

Call it a miniature farm system if you like.  The fact is that in a place like HJ, there is a relatively small population from which to draw potential players and it is one way to get kids interested in the game.  Please don't be foolish enough to try to say/infer that the HJ/Silsbee/HF/Orangefield coach has an advantage on a Yates coach when it comes to selecting potential playing personnel.

The "selection" for the Yates coach begins when they hit the campus in the 9th grade...NOT as elementary aged kids, as it is in some rural areas...Little Dribblers, if ran correctly, gives a high school basketball program a really good advantage...There is no such entity in Houston...Kids can PLAY little dribblers, but the local coaches have NO CLUE as to where these kids live or where they will attend school...its an advantage, Nash...

Nick Wise does not have to recruit... His record says it all... He has been a winner in Houston and everybody knows it.  If you have a kid thatg is focussed on BBALL and is strong enough to avoid peer issues and succed in the classroom.... I would send mine there too!  Now if my kid ias a weak minded follower, he goes to Pearland!

No, NIC Wise does not...(Thats Greg's son) ;D ;D...But Greg does not either, you're correct! 8)
