  1. Barbers Hill rode the pitching of Ross Hales for 6 innings and the return of Derek Hulsey for the 7th in defeating Cleveland 7-0. BH is now 5-1 in district and 18-2 for the season.

Hales struck out 10 in the six innings of work. Hulsey walked one but K-ed the other 3 batters.

    Also,

Huffman wins 5-2 over the Panthers. Huffman now 4-0 and will travel to cleveland on friday. Michael Listi homered and the Falcons scored two late. Scottie Smity and Andy Mena pitched for Huffman.

  5. Write up on the game from the BH Sports report.

Huffman's Michael Listi gave up a single to Chase Barrera to open the game but nothing else as Huffman Hargrave defeated Barbers Hill 6-0. BH is now 15-2 and 2-1 in district.

The Falcons broke a scoreless game in the fourth when they spaced 3 singles around 4 Eagle errors to tally 3 runs. Huffman would add 2 more in the 5th on a single, a 3rd strike wild pitch, 2 stolen bases and a 2-RBI single. And the final Falcon came on a walk, an error and a single.

Listi struck out 9 while walking 1. Ross Hales took the loss for BH. Hales and Bailey Glandt pitched well as they had a combined 8 Ks. But Barbers Hill also committed 8 errors behind the duo.

Barbers Hill will host Tarkington at 7:00 Tuesday.

  6. Bolstered by the relief pitching of Chase Barrera, Barbers Hill defeated Splendora 10-6 Friday night in a District 23-3A contest. Barrera came on in relief of starter Bailey Glandt to pitch 5 1/3 innings to get the win. Barrera gave up one run on one hit, no walks and struck out 13.

Offensively, BH made Splendora pay for the gifts the Eagles received. The Wildcats were ahead 5-2 with 2 outs in the bottom of the second when the second baseman committed an error. Colby Townley then sent a 2-2 pitch over the centerfield wall to cut the deficit to one. Michael Padgett then followed with a game tying homerun to left center.

In the fourth, Barbers Hill plated 5 runs to take the lead for good. Kyle McDonald started the rally via a 3-base error. After a walk to Barrera, a wild pitch scored McDonald. A couple of more walks and another wild pitch accounted for the second BH run of the inning. With 2 runners on base, Cameron Campbell doubled to right scoring Townley and Padgett. Eventually, courtsey runner Tony Carmona would score the fifth run of the inning on a wild pitch.

Barbers Hill goes to 2-0 in district and 15-1 for the season. BH will travel to Huffman on Monday, host Tarkington on Tuesday and visit Liberty on Friday. All games start at 7:00.

  8. Game Day!!!! This is a big one for district giving one of these teams the edge for district! However both of these teams better keep their guard up because Cleveland or Liberty could spoil it for someone 8) Any updateds from the Huffman folks about Bagley? For BH someone has posted that Glandt may pitch for the Eagles, is that true? I thought he dislocated his shoulder.
