Art Briles returns to Texas High School Football
NHSBulldogFan replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
Just because you haven't been found guilty of something doesn't mean that you're not a terrible human being. A fine example of that is Casey Anthony she was never found not guilty of a crime but would you want her around your kids? The problem with Art is that he doesn't seem to worry about his players character off the field. If character on your football team doesn't matter you hire Art if it does matter you don't hire Art Briles -

Don't get me wrong I think Art is a great Coach i would have no issues with him in the NFL but he shouldn't be around kids that's my take. -
Art Briles returns to Texas High School Football

No this doesn't mean anything at all right? When a female student-athlete reported that a football player had brandished a gun at her, the court paperwork said, Briles texted an assistant coach: “what a fool — she reporting to authorities.” In another case, a masseuse asked the team to discipline a player who reportedly exposed himself and asked for favors during a massage, the document said Briles’ first response was, “What kind of discipline… She a stripper?”.. So this is the kind of coach you would want coaching your kids? Huntsville's defensive line had its way with alot of teams last year
-
That's correct but I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels they could do something with the building
-
The soon to be old high school would make a good administration building
-
I They did both
-
Whatever they decide to do I hope they don't make it like PNG's visitor side like when they did the renovations back in 2009.
-
Probably not till 2020 but Micah will have a better idea of the timeline
-
I wonder what Klein is thinking tonight he had this going 60/40 against the bond
-
[Hidden Content] Ill never forget the clinic he put on against Midland Lee back in 2004.
-
You will never get a fiscal conservative like Klein to vote for a bond of this size. Now the security upgrades on the last bond I bet that he voted for that.

To be honest a few question marks going into 2019. Nederland is set in the backfield with McMorris at QB and Scott and Mazyck in the backfield. The question on offense will be who will the WR's be in 2019? I think the OL will be fine with Jonathan Nguyen being the top returner. On defense I cant wait for Ricky Johnson to start at DT he's a stud, Kerrington Broussard, Cedric Pete and Blaze Brown also return. A few holes to fill on defense so I expect a slow start on that side of the ball.

I don't think outgrown is the right word for the high school overcrowded is a more accurate word.

The High School was completed in 1971 it might be the newest school but it's in the worst shape out of the schools as a few people have mentioned and terribly designed. I invite you all to go visit Steven Nelson's Facebook page. He's been a teacher at the high school for close to 30 years and he has some good insight on the current condition of the school.

Congratulations Coach Wade Phillips

This is the same debate that happened over whether or not Kevin Barbay threw a forward pass or not in 2000 vs WOS. My opinion at the time was that it was a forward pass (later confirmed years later) but I also agreed with the WOS folks that said there was no guarantee Nederland would have got a Touchdown on that drive even if it was called an incomplete pass -

Coaching helps but it helps even better when you have players like Jonathan Gray and Jase McClellan playing for you -
Idea for a high school football podcast
NHSBulldogFan replied to NHSBulldogFan's topic in High School Football
That's one of the topics I wanted to cover along with Nederland's run from 1953-1957.
