Gonna try to plan something in a few weeks........I'll throw some dates out there and see which ones you can make.

May have to try that........woould like to try crabbing in there I like crabbing in that fairly large (for out there) bayou or cut coming out of the left/south side of Johnson's Lake. I have caught as many as 30 dozen in one morning. I don't know if it has recovered from Ike or not but that was a killer spot. Go into that cut toward the old fish/duck camp. When it curves to the right is where we anchor off, just out of the current. That curve is pretty deep also compared to the surrounding area and has some good Redfish in it sometimes. You can sometimes see them come up and grab bait while you are crabbing. well, TVC...since your offering your guide service, maybe we should plan a trip.........may bring bullets as well......I owe him a trip

Did they improve the ramp?? Last time I used it was years ago with a 14 ft aluminum boat and remember it being shallow. I've seen boats going out of there that I didn't think could do it. They dug it out and put up the bulkheads. May have to try that........woould like to try crabbing in there

I think so......but not 100% sure. I know right after Ike, I used the ramp at the 4 way stop in Sabine. It was ok......that's usually where I put in and then run the intercoastal to the Keith lake bridge. The ramp I was talking about for Keith lake was at Hansens place. I think I remember seeing trailers there after Ike. It's a REAL shallow boat ramp. I would be scared I could not get my boat out.

I might be late on this, but do not put that boat in Keith lake. There are only 2 ways to get there, the ramp and under the bridge. I have a 22ft center console and went under the bridge one time.......lots of post under water, so have to trim motor up. Once I got in there it was not to bad.....leaving, the tide had came up and my top rail scraped bridge as I went under.....fast....tide was leaving. The thing about tide is, if its moving 10 miles an hour, you have to go 11 mph to steer. So, if you try it, be careful. The ramp (last I checked) was too shallow for my boat......i float in about 14-16 inches of water. Its not worth screwing up your boat to get in there......if you want to fish in there, buy a cheap aluminum boat with a small motor. JMO.... ;D

If they didn't call it for either side then it sounds about fair.They don't call alot of penalties the first week of games. Our referees were very good and very helpful. My line was a little in the neutral zone and they gave me an opportunity to correct it before they called it. Our ref's did OK......they did make a mistake and not stop the clock between 1st and 2nd quarter. They called a few offsides.......but no holding calls and we were both guilty of that. So all in all they did a good job. as for the game, we lost fair and square........15 - 13..........had a safety last couple minutes of the game. Our offensive line needs some work......nederland was blowing past them causing us grief in the backfield. We get the o-line fixed and we should be in good shape.
