  1. Hey etbu, I'm looking forward to playing you guys again. As far as OF, we have a good group coming back. We lost some skill guys, but we have some good younger talent coming up. I'm thinking we will move Statum from WR to QB for the option. He is probably the fastest guy on the team. He is quick. On offense I think we lost most of our o-line, so I'm anxious to see if some of the younger guys step it up. I'm looking for our defense to be better this season. Both LB were Sophomores last year and our secondary should be good to. D-line is going to be young though. Overall we need to get it together earlier this season. We started playing good towards the end of the season last year, but it was too late. We'll have some growing pains the first few weeks, but we do have a good chance for a playoff spot this season.
  2. So HJ gets Felts and Silsbee gets Statum? Looks that way. HJ will get Felts or Peevy, Statum will not throw Friday after pitching Tuesday.
  3. Congrats! Best of Luck! Looks like Bernsen and Little will continue the friendly rivalry considering Tyler and San Jac are in the same conference.
  4. from The Orange Leader Here is the pic to go with the first post!
  5. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in each event qualifies for regionals!
  6. Congrats KK!! You deserve it. Best of luck to you. Glad you're staying close to home so I can continue to watch you shine!! San Jac just got a steal. Someone said it on here before in another thread, but KK has that IT factor that can't be coached. She never quits and always puts her team in a position to win. Congrats to KK and San Jac!!
  7. Some more exciting news about KK will be released sometime this week. Congrats KK!!

  9. Yeah I agree thats why I wish meets were still two days instead of trying to cram everything into a Friday afternoon!!
  10. This is a big game for OF. They really need to win this one to stay in the playoff hunt. OF seems to be a different team when Statum is not on the mound and since he pitched Tuesday OF will throw their 2 and 3 guys.
  11. Man I remember when the Bobcat Relays was a huge event. Two days with anywhere from 10 to 15 teams on both the boys and girls side.

  14. That's interesting. I have not thought about Bradley. Not sure he would leave LSU to come to Lamar, but I can guarantee you that he could get some donors. Plus you're right he does recruit this area and the Houston area for LSU. Not sure about him building a program from scratch, but would love to see him come in as the DC, then be the head coach in the future.
  15. Statum has to be included as a top pitcher. 25 K's in two district games in not to bad!!
  16. And what new addition would that be?
  17. Yes we are. We are hoping to have it out next week!
  18. Academic All-State Guidelines: 1. Academic All-State athletes MUST BE GRADUATING SENIORS. 2. Must have an overall GPA average of 94 for grades 9-11. 19. This is from the TGCA website. II. ASSOCIATION COACHES A. Players may be nominated by member coaches only. B. All nominations must be made to TGCA no later than 12:00noon Monday before the state basketball tournament. C. Coaches may nominate as many of their own players as they choose. D.
