1. Newcastle I had to +1 ya just for the wanting to feed your wife the crow, even if she is from Newton.  ;D
 2.
I think you are right, but I can dream...
Continue to dream. That's what all the remaining teams and their fans run on in the playoffs. I have a different dream, but it doesn't over ride anyone's. Mine has the Zebra's falling and the Eagles picking their bones!! Newton gotta stay focused.I have a friend who graduated from Grandview in the mid 50's and played for them. Mr. Joe Ross. He went on and played for Baylor. He says his dad also graduated from there in the '20's.
 3. Spoke with an Alto fan after the game at an eating establishment and he was hoarse and very complimentary of HD and their team. Seemed very impressed and said the game was unbelievable. Way to give it everything HD.
 4. Kevin Shorter had 12 carries for 231 yds and 4 tds and wasn't even the workhorse. Another good offensive night for the Eagles. Thanks Farmer Fran.
 5.

Congrats Eagles. Y'all are pretty much unstoppable.
Wasn't going to be a blow out, huh. ;)
::)
And could have been worse. 2nd team played the fourth quarter and actually got down to Jv QB and running backs before games end. 8) Several games to go and all will be challenges. Hope we make it to Jerry's World on Dec. 21st.  :)
 6.

are we ready for some football. i will be surprised if the Lions stay with-in 50 points. If we are ready to play Farmer Fran will be impressed with Newton on offense and defense.
' Already impressed with Newton, just don't under estimate Teague or the Eagles will get beat. Newton wins in a close one.
Teague actually took the lead twice. Then Newton realized the game had started and unfolded their wings. The passing game of Teague was taken away by Newton's defense. Teague's defense never stood a chance. Newton had 2 touchdowns called back. One defensive interception and return for a td was called back, only to be followed on the next play by a different defender intercepting and returning it for a touchdown. Very little team speed on Teague IMO.
 7. Game day!! Only a 100 mile drive to get there and can't wait!! Newton take it to 'em! Go Eagles!!
 8. When that is all you got, that's all you got. Teague's fans are reaching. EC is gonna be in a battle. I've watched those clips on Franklin and their RB is fast, but didn't appear as strong as Roberts. I've got Franklin going to the quarter finals, but they could wind up going home this week if EC plays lights out.
 9.
Sounds like ECFAN#1 wants Teague to do what they could not do. Does he think Teague is that much better than E.Chambers. (Newton 74 E Ch.7).
I don't agree. I think he is pumping Newton up. I hope we're as pumped as when we played EC. Look out Teague if we are.  :)

Newton beat Daingerfield 21-0 in '98 at Homer Bryce Stadium.
Newton was 3A that year...right
yup!
DII 3A    5th smallest 3A school in the state that year. Still took down the monsters, except West Orange Stark. I think that score was 7 to 6. Not for sure.
Nobody is jealous.. but when the offensive coordinator was running 3 different qbs and there was no reason to..and that cost Kountze some games this year..idk what the reason was..also just because you play in the NFL doesn't mean your gonna be a great coach..But I hope the best for coach M
Its a dumb move.  You guys gave the man 1 year.  He had a senior QB, and a freshman QB.  Early on all of you were fine with the two of them rotating.  I remember threads about how it was an advantage.  Whatever.  Thsi si why Kountze has sucked and will always suck.
See you know nothing lol..Kountze had a junior.. a sophomore.. and a freshman.. He rotated all 3...a blind man could see who the best of the three was..and who wasn't.. he continued to start the junior when clearly the other two were better..2 of Kountze's district losses came down to the last drive (Woodville and Anahuac).. he puts in the Junior in both situations and you get 2 INT that end thgame..so check your facts before you bash Kountze
Say what you like, but this year could've been special for Kountze.  You guys got sidetracked by federal court cases and run through signs.  Coach Franklin allowed all of that to go on and allowed it to become a distraction to his players.  If you  want to hang that on Coach Middleton, go ahead and do so.  Most of us who are level headed know the truth.  If you guys had left Coach Dale alone, and allowed him to coach this group of athletes, it could've been a great season in Kountze.  Instead, he was run out of town, and now a baseball coach heads up your football program, and ya'll are running off one of the only true football guys on the staff.  Sounds logical to me!
I'm an outsider, but how could the head coach have anything to do with what went on between the cheerleaders and their parents and the Superintendent and how could he have controlled it? I know Kountze had more athleticism on the field than in years past and also won more games than in years past. Three QB's does not allow any one of them to get into a flow of the game IMO, but the head coach has to bare some blame for that. He is the ultimate decision maker, not just the offensive coordinator.
 12. I don't think you could convince WOS or Newton or Nederland that it was a down year. Some of the 2A schools had good years. Kountze, Warren, Deweyville all had years better than they have seen in a while. Too narrow a view if you only want to talk about 4A IMO.
 13. I think Franklin is going to be a bit too much for EC. I think they will wind up in the quarterfinals. They're that good. Franklin 52 EC 28.

 15. Newton vs Teague Friday the 23rd at 1pm in Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches. Newton will be visitors.
I'm with you Farmer Fran. What does this mean? We do have fire trucks at our games at home. They do blow their horns when we score. But that's it. I don't really know where this is coming from or why.  :D
You got us all buffaloed Champ.....lo... ;) ;)
C'mon Kville_Kats, I'm at a loss on this one. I don't have any idea what this Jdaniel is talking about. 8)  Page out of Newton's playbook? Freight trains? The last time a freight train ran through Newton, John Kennedy was in the White House! lol  ;D

 18. Newton will roll. 56 - 14 Teague can not keep up with Newton's ground game. And will not let Teague score anywhere near 42.
 19. Teague coach "changed his mind" about agreeing to play Friday night in Lufkin. Even though the Lufkin stadium had already been booked. Playing at 1pm on Friday will deny some of the Newton parents and fans from being able to watch this game. We are a blue collar work area. Why not Friday night or Saturday at 1? Newton lost the flip and will be visitors. Anyways a good stadium and lots of good Newton memories. Won the state championship in '98 at this stadium with an afternoon game. :)
 20. Newton can compete with anybody in 2A with team speed. Both sides of the ball. That's why passing 35-45 times will be difficult simply from pressure Newton can apply with speed on the defensive side of the ball with down linemen and linebackers as well as multiple sets to confuse blocking. Their defensive backs can run with anybody. Offensively they will run at you up the middle as well as outside with a number of different backs, all with speed including the QB. Then can throw the ball at any time. I don't believe matching team speed will be a problem.
 21.

Newton wins this one, 49-18
Teague will score more than 18, but Newton will still win. Teague can score with the best of them, but their defense struggles against the run.
I don't believe they will get 18. And if they struggle against the run, it will be a long afternoon for them. And tiring from chasing our backs down the field. ;)
 22. I don't know what happened to the prior agreement either, but it will be at SFA at 1 pm Friday. I hate the day games.
 23. Deweyville and Newton have both had good years. Let's get on with the playoffs and quit worrying about things that will not happen. Let's get focused on things that are gonna happen. Both teams have represented Newton County well.  8)
 24. Unless something has changed Newton's coach said it would be Friday in Lufkin. 7 or 7:30. But this was last week.
