1. They had a reciever from Illinois as their offensive player of the year. No offense to him, but there is no way Jonathan Gray shouldn't have been the offensive player of the year. He had over 3600 yards rushing and 70 TDs in one season, and 205 TDs in a career (National Record). I just think that he should've got the OPY.
 2. Just what Lamar needs; another 230 lb. DE. Can Lamar please recruit farther noth than Silsbee. Lamar shouldn't even look at a DL under 270. That's what they need, actual D1 sized linemen!
 3.

anyone have a link to watch that onside kick?
Sure. There are several videos floating around out there, but this one might be the best. [Hidden Content] Note SLC's #4 went past 10 yards, then snagged it in mid air directly at the 50, but then his momentum carried him back to the 49.5. Thats what is throwing people off. However, where he landed is irrelevant. The ball going to the 50 is what counts.
I just watched it and slowed down frame by frame. #4 never touched the ball at the 50. He touched the ball at the 49.5 yard line. The ball did not travel 10yards. Still having said that, that was a tough call to make as the play was going on. With the way #4 was positioned to the ref on his sideline and others blocking the other ref's view a little bit, that made it a tough call. jmo.

 6.

steele plays in a weak district, and they got lucky last yr and they are getting lucky today, they made 2 big plays and PAM has made big mistakes, steele is not good, nor is madison
not good  lol  you never convince me that any team playing in the 5a semis winning by more than 20 at half is not good  lol
If they play in a weak district and aren't that good, what does that make Memorial? When you are getting your butt kicked by 40 points in the 3rd quarter, you should shut up! Steele has now won 28 games in a row, you don't do that if you aren't any good. The Titans have had a great season and they have nothing to hang head about.
 7. Just as I thought it would go, the team that made the most mistakes lost. You can not have 4 turnovers in the third round and win, Coldspring wore WOS down in the 4th quarter. "Stangs couldn't get an offensive rythem going because of penalties. Congrats to a great season Mustangs and good luck to Coldspring, yall played a great game.
 8. A couple of things: first, somebody posted that there were not many details about the fight. I believe in Mr. Saveat's statement he says those details were on an attachment that went with his statement. Second, according to BISD handbook the students involved should at least go to ISS for a first offense, anything after a first offense involves pathways. Anytime you're in ISS or Pathways you are banned from any extra carricular activities. We may never know what punishment is handed out to the players, though. Last, I bet minimal punishment is handed out at both schools.
 9. Wow! That was definately a high schooler. I was sports editor of my high school paper and I can't see how that ever got published. Apparently, that paper has no editor. It also sounds like that was the first football game the writer has ever seen. Scoreboard posistion? I don't even want to know what that is.
 10. After the first brawl occurred in the 4th quarter, at the end of the game both coaches should've taken their teams to opposite ends of the field and skipped the handshake. The head coaches could've shook hands at the middle of the field and went about their business. WOS did that after the Columbus game because of esculating cheap shots at the end of the game by Columbus. It just eliminated the opprotunity for a bad situation, like that at the Ozen/LaMarque game. jmo.
 11. If CS can't pass they won't win. If WOS shuts down Gilbert, can they pass? I watched the CS/Kirbyville game last year at Lamar. If CS can't play a passing team any better than they did last year, WOS will beat them. However, if either team has 5 turnovers, that'll be the team going home. I'll say WOS takes this one 24-14. They've been on a roll in the playoffs.

We have some messed up priorities in this country, compared to a teacher salary that is way too much.
($6.00 a ticket x 5000 tickets) x 10 games + ($5000 concessions x 10 games) $300,000 + $50,000 = $350,000 per regular season How much again did your history teacher make for the school?
If football is making that much money for the school, maybe my taxes could down a little, and all that money goes where, buying new stuff for the athletic departments. All the money spent hiring assisant coaches, instead of qualified teachers and that $350,000 is way short of 16-18 coaches salaries. Who is keeping track of all this money, and where it is going, seems like Dayton had a big scandal about 10 years back. Guess thats why USA is way behind other countries when it comes to education, but as long as we got football, were good
I think we had football back when we were #1 in education as well? So it must be something other than football.
You do know that to get hired as a coach in Texas you have to be a qualified teacher. The coaches on staff are all "qualified" teachers. You must be thinkign about Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Florida where they let anyone coach. Also, a small portion of an assistant coach's salary is for coaching a sport or two sports, depending where you coach. Your tax dollars are going where there supposed to be going.
 13. BrnhamFan why are you still talking about what you all could do. You're not doing anything. You had to get basketball shoes out this week. Quit talking about what this year's team could do or could've done. You couldn't have beat Manvel and you are not going to beat Manvel or LaMarque or anyone else this season.
 14. That's not a bad result. Ohio will contend in the MAC. Three road games in 5 days, they will be battle tested by conference. Don't they still have Kentucky and Ohio St. on the road later? I like the tougher schedule. What time is the Charlotte game Saturday?
 15. I never said BC would've win, I just said they would've scored at least once. IMO.
 16.
BH was severely overrated. This was not that big of an upset. Ozen plays in a tougher district (obviously). BH fans heads were too big and they got everyone else believing the hype. There was never anything there. I knew when things got real Dayton would strive forward and BH would fall, not necessarily in the first round, but eventually. If BH would have beaten Crosby then I would say it was a huge upset, but after showing that they weren't all that, it was obvious they would fall soon, sooner than Dayton at least. The biggest upset was Coldspring only beating BC 7-0. I'm hearing Sherman Gilbert played with the flu, and Monroe was injured early on. Something had to have happened because I saw both teams play this year early on, and I thought CS was going to blow BC out.
Matt Menard got hurt early on for BC, too. CS still had their best player on the field and BC did not. Had Menard not gotton hurt BC probably gets at least one score. Don't use the injury excuse for not blowing out a team you all said you would have beaten into submission at halftime.
 17.
I seen wos play, not impressed. When Cleveland can score that many points on them. They need some work on defense.
Well 7 of those points came on a fluke play. Cleveland threw what ammounted to a "hail mary" pass and the DB from WOS, instead of intercepting it, tried to knock it down and he hit it right into the Cleveland WR's hands at the 2. After that Cleveland got exactly 1 first down the rest of the game. That covered the last 2 and a half quarters. They looked to me like a typical WOS team. Get after ya on defense and run the football on offense. I think if they play like they're capable they will, at least, be playing in round 4.

 19. You guys need to find a new crack dealer if you think Coldspring could beat Memorial. Coldspring is good but PAM would beat them as bad as Carthage did last year in the State Finals.
 20. Truth, I try and explain the religious atmosphere football is here in Texas to my brothers back in WV and they just can"t comprehend it. The two high schools in my hometown is the mid-county madness up there as there is usually at least 10,000 fans at that game. That's more than shows up at the state championship game. I tell'em that's an average crowd down here. Football is a different animal down here!

 22. I was looking over the 3A DII bracket and looks like it could be or should a WOS v Coldspring Regional Final. There is not a team in WOS' part of the bracket that stikes fear into anyone. I think WOS and Coldspring are the two best teams in that Region.
