I'm not making any excuses. When we win next friday, I can't wait to read all them excuses especially the one about the OC.
How do you know WOS will make excuses last time i checked Kville has never beaten WOS. And the last two years when you talked trash and then were nowhere to be found or avoided the WOS posters when WOS easily beat yall. The game will be close every WOS fan has been saying that. It will not be a blowout either way. But id be a little worried if I was both teams cuz neither team's offense has produced like they thought. I think both were expecting to be scoring around 30 to 35 points a game.

No real state threat has come from this district since 99' with PNG and WOS in 2000 (with one of the smallest schools in the state in 4a at the time) and Ned's semi appearance in 01. But since the not so much. Its hard to call a district tough when every team is worried about making the playoffs. The top tier districts with teams like lamarque dont go into a season looking to make the playoffs or win district. If they dont win state they arent satisfied. This district hasnt produced very many finalist, semi-finalist or even qf with the current teams. Now with that said i wish it was tough and i think we should support any of these teams that makes the playoffs this year and shut up some of these other area districts.

kirbyville has said this the past two years and neither game was even close.
-
Are you freaking kidding me?? One touchdown at Half??? Giddings will kill us if a change isn't made. heck Kirbyville will whip us. I sat there and put up with that censored for the last time.
The coach cant help if the qb overthrows a wide open receiver three times all for what would have been touchdowns. And you also cant blame him when the rb drops a wide open pass which would also have been a touchdown. The game was sloppy but the playcalling was better.
-
Tonight's less-than-spectacular performance was not the OC's fault. The calls tonight were fine. It was bad execution - overthrows, drops, fumbles. Then again, I will take ANY game where we play as ugly as we did tonight and win 34-7.
Definately better play calling. You could also tell they were working on some things
-
HF looks much better than last year. I think they can compete. Nothing against HF, but it could have been 60 something to 7 if we could catch a deep ball. By the way, their touchdown was actually a touchback. Just saw the replay on the tailgate show. He fumbled the ball on th 2 yard line and then went out of the endzone. Should have been a shutout. Those officials were bad for both teams. They were even having problems counting yards on penalties. :
Anyways, GOOD JOB 'STANGS!!
and GOOD LUCK TO HF! I think they might have something going there.
I saw it too, it was easily a touchback. But I agree with what he says about HF. They didnt seem as intimidated as they have the past couple of years and they played a tough game. They were also able to move the ball a little better than previous games against WOS. WOS had some better play calling after the first drive. But they also played a pretty sloppy game. The game should have never been close through the first half. The QB needs some work on his long passes (except the one that was dropped) and needs too realize he can run the ball when he needs to cuz hes got some moves and speed. He just needs more experience. If they play this sloppy against Kville it could end their streak of district wins.

Until he gets one more state trophy or until he thinks he no longer has the talent in his system to do so. Which could be quite a while from what people say about these younger teams' talent.
-
Did it ever occur to anybody that maybe WOS is working on some things that they may be struggling with. I mean night and day teams from one half to another. Sounds to me like they work on some things and turn it up when they really need to. Its called preparing for the playoffs. Their first couple of games is usually their only games to prepare for the playoffs except for maybe there game against silsbee and jasper of old. But i think kirbyville being pretty good should help also.
On the other hand their playcalling hasnt just changed. Its been like this for atleast the past 5-8 years. You would know that if you had been to all the games. The difference: playmakers. Look at Deon. Alot of his scores were on busted plays that he made something happen. Or the year before when he was a receiver and was able to come down with some passes that shouldnt have been thrown. Same goes with ET, K. Franks, J. Franks., LD, V. Edwards, E. Enard etc... The play calling has been the same and wont change as they keep winning. You stick with what works. Even though its not what causes the wins they still win. Hypolite with experience has the ability to do the same, along with a couple of their recievers. So give them time and they will win with the same old playcalling.

Thats the crap I was posting about on another topic. This is why Ozen can never make it anywhere. NO DISCIPLINE.
-
Talent alone wont do anything. Ozen has the most talented teams in recent years. Except last year. Discipline and coaching hurts them every year. Mainly discipline.
-
Not to mention it hasnt exactly been a dry summer. And nobody is freaking out.
-
Guess we better strap lifevests to the kids before sending them to school.

Do schools normally operate during a tropical storm/small hurricane?

Did the game get moved back to 7:30.

#10 has speed just ask Hooks
-
How can you not say that Silsbee had more size and just as much speed (offence) as WOS. Silsbee could be a great team with some discipline and coaching. Hey I support the mustangs not silsbee im just giving an honest assement.
-
It was a great game for both teams. But after seeing silsbee size and athletes they had more athletes, more depth, and way huger size than WOS. There is no way WOS should be able to beat them. If Silsbee got some coaching and discipline there would be no excuse for them to go deep in the playoffs. There lines were bigger than half the 5As in West Brooks district. But being a WOS fan im glad to see we were able to beat a team even when we were outmanned. Reminds me of all of 2000.

With all due respect' date=' HJ was the worst team I've ever seen on Friday. Maybe it was just that given night, but they were THE most outmatched team I have ever witnessed.
Kville wins easily.[/quote']
Im gonna have to agree. I dunno what happened when HF played HJ but HF looked alot better than HJ when WOS played them. They could actually move the ball a little. I mean actually get positive yardage. HJ may be able to score some points against Kville cuz they have no defense. But kirbyville should be able to put up a big number.
-
WOS' date='
Apologize for the misquote, but in agreeing with the previous post, states you have the same opinion of the district. Personnally,
I think the district is great, lots of competition between 7 of the 8 schools. Enjoy the district if it is so weak because you are "guaranteed a playoff spot while the rest of us will take pride in our wins and losses.[/quote']
My intention is not to cut down the other teams. I hope silsbee and jasper play a tough game against WOS. It will only make the teams better. But so far against Kirbyville,HF,and HJ its really been no test at all. Some of the starters wont know what its like to play 4 full quarters until the playoffs. They get taken out after the first half to try and keep the games close. But we need to quit sugarcoating everything cuz if any of these teams want to ever win a couple games in the playoffs they are gonna have to step it up soon. But I hope that the silsbee, jasper, bridge city, and orangefield teams do show up and test WOS and even give them a scare. Cuz thats what its gonna take for WOS to be completely ready for the playoffs. Otherwise they will be at a disadvantage.
Doubt us now!

This was a big step for Lumberton, but Dayton is very young even before the injury. All us WOS fans were saying it was gonna be tuff against them cuz we were young but during the game we noticed they were even younger. They really struggled. Another tough game will show lumberton is for real. I think they can make the playoffs and their fate is in their own hands.
