Lumberton wears Light Blue Jerseys with White Numbers outlined in red and Red Pants at home which just looks weird to me. I wish they would go back to the old Oilers look they had.

Would that be the Bronco World Series?

Ozen's road uniforms bug me because of the yellow numbers (way hard to read). Also last year Ozen made a change to their helmets I didn't understand. They kept yellow helmets but the wordmark "PANTHERS" was in old gold which was virtually unreadable plus there's no old gold anyhwere else on the uni's. I really like their old uni's with the white helmets blue jerseys white pants they had more of a pro feel.

There are many JUCO teams that share fields with their local high school so that could be an option.

There is a definate difference in the crowds. For whatever reason things have even changed since I came out in '98. When I was there the bleacher creatures made up for our more "relaxed" fans. I hope things change in a hurry.

That kid is unreal I've been keeping up with him for the past couple of years, still haven't seen him in person but I was able to see plenty of tape.

I've seen a few games in Dist. 12 and I would say Dist. 32 is tougher across the board but West End is dangerous.

Kendal Briles is a definate for Stephenville. For PN-G of course Dustin Long but Ryan Robertson was also a good one.

I agree it's great I wish my old league would have stayed at the level it was when I played but things go in cycles the main thing is that it's Groves and that will always be my hometown so I will support it. I'm not sure what's going on at GA but I hope they can get it together. I love watching youth league baseball be it PONY, Little League, etc...I just liked being able to lead off base by the time I was nine it made me feel more prepared for PONY League.

For PN-G I would say the 1975 State Champions. That year the Tribe went (14-1) avenging their only loss of the season to South Houston (lost by 1) by stomping the Trojans 32-7 in the playoffs. PN-G would go onto beat Odessa Permian in the title game. Following the season the Indians were ranked as the #3 team in the nation. A close 2nd came in 1977 when PN-G outscored their opponents by an average of 29-8 finishing 14-1 losing the title game to Plano 13-10 before the largest crowd to ever witness a high school football game (49,000+).

Good luck to whoever comes out on top in district 32, there are 3 good ball teams still in the mix. It is amazing how far Groves National has come since I've grown up playing ball in the 80's and 90's. Back then most of the top players came from Groves American where we played under PONY rules while National was kind of looked down upon by the other.

I was supposed to but things came. Heard from him last night wish he would've had a better game last night. He's a buddy of mine, I did a story on in Florida the last two years and last season at Minute Maid.
