Ike may affect Texas high school football games Eds: APNewsNow. AUSTIN (AP) - High school football games threatened by Hurricane Ike could be rescheduled for earlier kickoffs this week. The University Interscholastic League on Tuesday gave schools permission to move up varsity football games in areas where Ike may force evacuations. The UIL mandates at least five days between games. But with Ike potentially headed to the Texas coast, the exception would let schools move up its games. Scheduling for volleyball matches were granted similar exceptions. Gov. Rick Perry has already issued a disaster declaration for 88 counties ahead of Ike, which was on a path Tuesday to possibly hit Texas by the weekend. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. If I remember right the Cardinal they had was brought back from a long time ago. Besides the Crimson Tide look they had a Cadrinal with Bridge arched over it and City under it. They had the old Arizona/StL Cardinal at one time but I liked the big Card that was like the old USFL Michigan Panther style. This is a downgrade to me.

Tonight at 7 Nederland will meet ORWALL National in the championship, ORWALL must beat Nederland twice to advance. Last night Lumberton was eliminated by ORWALL 5-3.

Things really are coming together, and with the new stands going up it actually is starting to look like a stadiium again. Also one thing I noticed was how the turf on the field house side extends all the way to the track, most stadiums I've seen with tracks don't have that. On the video it said that the new stadium is scheduled to be finished by Sept. home opener. I had heard Oct 10th. That sounds more feasable to me. It is now October, I got a call after the story aired. The Texas City game might be moved to a neautral site because there stadium might not be ready.

As someone that came from Groves American I hate the name change but understand it. Back when I was playing things were much different with GA being the place to play and All-Stars constantly advancing to the Regionals. I just prefer PONY over Little League I think is prepares you better but that's just my opinion. As far as the purple thing, lol we wore Red, White and Blue in all-stars but back then so did the National league.

I got back around 9:25 stayed for 4 innings. I have to say that COULDN'T have been Seven Lakes number one, BP fast ball with a curve ball he didn't control very well. Indians had opportunities to score more. Not knocking on the kid from Katy just not the kind of guy you would usually see in game 1 of a playoff series, Spartans will probably throw no. 1 in game 2.
