I believe this will be a low scoring game between these two. I am at a loss when it comes to Garrison because San Augustine shot themselves in the foot that night. SA left at least 35 points out on the field that night. That was due to fumbles and special teams gafs. The score should have been a lot higher. Garrison doesnt have much of a offense, but they have some big guys on defense. If Hemphill can find a way to score then it will be a close game IMO!

I think this game is big for the hornets, if they can knock off garrison ,the hornets could be in a playoff spot situation
There is no chance -
Sometimes bye weeks lead to flat weeks
There may be a little bit of rust, but I believe the bye came at the right time!

West Sabine is still a good ball club. Have a couple of guys that can hurt you big and Reshod is one of the best athletes in the region.
They are good, but not as good as they were last year. I think the defense will contain Reshod, and force him to throw. Our much improved secondary should be ready! Plus, SA is fresh after the bye week.
-
Wolves coming off the bye week after thrashing Hemphill. WS coming off the win against HD. This game comes down to SA's D....the SA offense will score and probably at will on a weak WS defense. If SA contains the banged up QB in Williams and their shaky oline they should win big!
-
The will avoid embarrassment but they will not win.
Until you see the SA defense play then I would hold off saying that! The offense will score, but the defense will get stops against Shelbyville!
-
They will play for 2nd place this week. Shelbyville is winning the district.
The SA defense might have some say in that....

I get on hear and route for my team I heckle just like everyone else, its fun and games, but you will nevrr hear me run down the kids, because only a straight up Loser feels the need to run down tennage kids,to make them selves feel like a man
There is a difference between "rooting" for your team and glorifying them when they are actually a very middle of the road type team! HD fans do it to themselves....when a team like Hemphill breaks their long losing streak against you then you should calm the talk about beating elite teams talk until next year!
-
Agreed, I am worried about the "four horsemen". Did they leave HD?
We should rename them the "Headless Horsemen"

Teams tend to have turnovers when they play teams with superior talent. Where was the speed from the fastest backfield in the region?
I agree to your point. But I believe they fumbled the ball on the first play 3 or 4 times in a row! Not sure if it was the HD back just messing up or if WS actually stripped the ball! But I believe this game let HD fans know just how middle of the road their team is!
-
Playing a team other than Burkeville, Sabine Pass or Colmesneil was definitely a good experience. Playing a team with speed is always different than playing teams with no speed. I think we can all agree that HD want NO part of San Augustine or any of the other good teams. HD fans will now go back to their holes until they play another good team. They will win a couple of games against pathetic teams and then begin to proclaim their greatness despite the beat downs from all the good teams that they have faced. Then there is the ever looming first round exit.
You could tell that the WS defense is suspect. When HD didnt score at the end of the half...I knew it was over. I've seen it happen...its hard to get back in the swing of things. Even 1 fumble against a good team will cost you....and HD had 4! The four horsemen shot themselves in the hooves tonight!

Honestly I think this was a good experience for HD. Had some bad breaks (1ft short of TD at half, strip returned for TD overturned, WS getting the onside kick, and fumble on fake punt after gaining a big first down) and made some huge mistakes. You can't fumble on 4 straight possessions in your own territory and expect to beat a quality team. We have to improve our pass defense and of course limit the big plays. Williams is a dynamic QB and Smith is lightning in a bottle so it's hard to contain them when you give them extra possessions and a short field repeatedly. I don't know how good Centerville, Lovelady and AS are, but I think HD will compete well in district if they hold onto the ball.
I think HD beats Shiro to get third!

Congrats Newton!

Oakland Raiders?

DeBlanc in a familiar place down to the 1. Huck takes it in on the next play!! Bad snap on 2pt conversion, no good.
WS - 30
HD - 20

HD with some pretty good momentum.Dang...makes it two possession game.

I am about to head to Northwest vs. Denton Guyer and when I get back I am going to light this board up on HD.
lol
-
If CC could only get a better defense!!!
-
Jeez that was a huge stop. Difference in a one and two possession game.
That was probably ball game unless they get a turnover early!
-
Somebody has to start playing defense lol. Way to hang with em HD!
-
from what I saw in the ktz west Sabine scrimmage, he is their Only player
Didn't Kountze pick him apart? Their oline is horrible! -
Now if hd wins. Falcon will use that as an excuse
Won't be an excuse. He is their best player! HD really has the upper hand now! -
.......I will agree to a extent, I just hope you are not fooled by CC high scoring games, they have yet to play decent competition, don't get me wrong I'm not taking away from them boys ,because they are playing good ball against the type of competition they are playing, we shall see in a couple of weeks
Has Newton beat any good competition?

That SA defense held Hemphill to 6 points and they were lucky to get that. That should help your heart say SA too lol!
