1. Hemphill is about to get tore up. This game won't be close! SA offense is fast. Defense will hit em hard!
 2. I know nothing about the offense. Any info on them would be much appreciated
Kirbyville may be fine. Deweyville will not lose a regular season game this year. No shame in losing to this group.
Not so fast... we will see very soon about that. I say SA and HD beat them. Two 1A schools.  ::) ;D
They will play in S.A. at the new field....S.A. will want the win.  Looks like kville wont be blowing that annoying horn a lot this season!
 3. Was at the alto/hd game.....hd did not impress me one bit. Sa had over 300 rushing yards on alto just weeks prior.  Run d was their weakness and you still couldnt beat em.  We had them down 35-0 in 2nd qtr but came back and made it a game.  Alto had something hd will never have and thats mental toughness.  Also Hd lost the game because they lack defense and do not have a passing game. How bad did the vidor jv beat yall?

 5. Aug. 29     Tyler Grace Community     7:30 p.m. Sept. 6     OPEN     Sept. 13     Deweyville     7:30 p.m. Sept. 20     at Garrison     7:30 p.m. Sept. 27     at Hemphill     7:30 p.m. Oct. 4     Tenaha     7:30 p.m. Oct. 11     at Grapeland*     7:30 p.m. Oct. 18     Shelbyville*     7:30 p.m. Oct. 25     at West Sabine*     7:30 p.m. Nov. 1     at Alto*     7:30 p.m. Nov. 8     Cushing*     7:30 p.m. In my opinion, SA's schedule is very very brutal with having to go to Alto and WS.  Tyler Grace lost a lot of starters as well.  SA needs this win then head into the early bye week with some sort of momentum. Deweyville will hopefully be our first home game at our new stadium.  The Wolves will be pumped up.  A win over a good Deweyville squad will have them battle tested when they head to Garrison. Hemphill is just Hemphill.... The big test will be against Tenaha, favorite to win state in D-2.  They will be hard to beat, but if SA starts rolling by week 6 you could say upset here! Top three out of district will be Alto, SA, and WS.
 6. Offense: San Augustine must replace a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, including its leading passer, top three rushers, and top two receivers. Tony Hubbard leaves a 1,776-yard, 29-touchdown hole at running back, while Bobby Tanner’s graduation takes almost 2,000 total yards away from head coach Donald Hubbard’s offense. Then there’s the void left by the versatile Ty’Aundra Taylor, who led San Augustine in receptions and was second in rushing. Desmond Randle will try to pick up the slap on the perimeter, while Jamikel Roberts replaces Tanner at quarterback. San Augustine will still be athletic and will possess a bulky offensive line led by Jarvis Payne and E.J. Barnes. But with only four returning offensive starters, it may be tough matching the 34.7 points per game the Wolves averaged in 2012. San Augustine LB Jeremy Jenkins. (Christopher Vinn, ETSN.fm) Defense: San Augustine’s defense also returns only four starters from a unit that surrendered a respectable 21.2 points per game a year ago. But Jeremy Jenkins is back at linebacker after a strong sophomore season, and the Wolves — like in offense — will rely on new athleticism to fill the spots created by graduation. The question is, will they fill them well enough to contend with district foes Alto and West Sabine, which return the majority of their offenses and big-time playmakers? 2013 Outlook: In a lot of districts, San Augustine would probably be considered the favorite even after graduating 14 starters. But in 10-A D-I, the Wolves could finish third because of Alto and West Sabine returning so many starters from multiple-round playoff teams. Nevertheless, San Augustine, which TheOldCoach.com ranks 23rd in D-I entering the fall, is not a team to sleep on. The Wolves are the defending district champions having beaten Alto and West Sabine by two scores apiece in 2012. Obviously, if the Wolves are to do that again, they’ll have to with a mostly new cast of characters. Jenkins will be fun to watch on defense, and that offensive line should make the transition for the new skill players much easier. It’s fair to call San Augustine a dangerous darkhorse squad in Region III.
Not sure SA even makes playoffs after all yall lost.
I bet we will have a stronger team than HD after ALL THAT WE LOST....SA will rebound just fine.  HD will have pretty much the same team they had last year and still get beat!  Not a team on your schedule that will give you enough of a test of what you will see in the playoffs.  Gonna be left stunned and shocked yet again!
So, I guess the 2A teams we play are not a good challenge for a 1A? Dville, Kountze and Groveton. Heck, Lovelady and Normangee are usually good teams. HD has a pretty tough schedule overall.
That is a pretty easy schedule.  Any team looking for a winning record heading into playoffs would schedule Kountze, Groveton, Lovelady and Normangee.  Only decent team you have is Deweyville which will be a for sure loss.  There are a number of 2A teams to schedule if you want to see the kind of firepower you are going to see in the playoffs....How about Tenaha, Garrison, or Corrigan?  Why no...dont think yall wanna do that, and dont bring up speed.  SA, Alto, and WS will run HD off the field/track!

 11.
Kountze, Deweyville, Groveton are certain losses. But based on the typical HD schedule they should get their normal 7-3 season and complimentary 1st round/game exit.
Deweyville and Groveton are losses for sure.  Of course they make they playoffs in that crackerjack district they are in.  Early exit.

Yes, SA has been good recently.
SA won the 2003 2A Div 1 State Championship!  When did HD win one last?  Nevermind, I just looked on the UIL website and it states that HD won it's ONLY state championship in football 34 years ago (1979) in class 1A.
Yes yall won a title in 2003. But look at your history, SA has won only 50% of it's games. Heck, in 2006 yall only had 1 win. In 2009 yall lost every game. lol. 2003 was earned and deserved, good job, it made folks quit laughing at your program.  ;)
I'm not from SA.  All I am stating is that HD's sucessful seasons were laced throughout the late 1930's to the late 1970's.  Any success OTHER than last season for HD was the result of pretty much always being in a weak district, usually one and done when they did make the playoffs during the 90's- 2000's.  I agree that SA is not really in the same class as Alto when it comes to being a consistently dominate ball club but IMO they are consistently better than HD. If HD had historically been placed in districts with teams the caliber of Alto, Garrison, Groveton, Corrigan Camden, SA, West Sabine, Joaquin, and Teneha then their win/loss record would not be what it is now and these are the teams that SA has grown up with in their districts throughout history.  West Sabine was in hog heaven the years that they were able to play in the southern district.
HD has not always been in this district. HD has had the misfortune of losing early in playoffs to some great teams that went far in playoffs. Alto, Groveton and Grapeland to name a few, seems we always lost to a top 3 ranked team in state in first or second rd. HD has had some great teams in the 90's-current. HD has a bigger winning tradition than SA.
Not in the past 10 years you haven't.  Of course SA was horrible once Graves left, the talent was always there, no one just knew how to use it.  Hubbard is a great coach and knows how to use the talent we have.  We will have an accurate passer next year, and two good rb's.  We will be questionable on defense.  Neither SA or HD may make it out of district....so why don't you keep your mouth shut for a while?
 18. HD shouldnt even be talked about.  First of all they come from the weakest district in the state of texas, and they play the weakest pre season schedule.  Alto let you back in that game last year.  HD has NO passing game.  Better hope you clear that up if you want to get out of the first round of the playoffs again.  SA may have lost a lot of players, but one thing they do have is swagger and pride.  Can always mark HD and the rest of that district as W when you see them on the schedule...why?  Because they cannot handle real team.
