I like it cool but I guess it is according to how you define "cold". It is no fun when it is miserable from the cold but in the 40's (my definition of cool) with no wind, it is great. Being 30 and windy with a chill factor of 18 (cold) is not any fun for a spectator or a player.

A long time ago when I was in school is was fairly routine. I thought nothing of it even back in junior high school. I don't remember the coaches directing at any player by calling him names. It was more like performance based such as... "that kind of playing is *%#@" or "you have better get to moving or I'll put my foot up &^%$ *##". I've had some of it directed toward my and I never felt disrespected by it. I thought it just added color and seriousness to the coach's tone. I know that I took it more seriously than if he had said..."Gee, I wish you would try harder".

People speed all the time also. When you get caught, you pay the fine. It is not an excuse to say that everyone else does it also.

It doesn't matter who walked under the coconut tree yesterday. If you are under the tree when the coconut falls, you are the one that gets hit. They just got hit with the coconut.

I don't know anyone in Nederland that thinks it is a rivalry game but I am sure some Vidor fans would like for that to be. There is no big buildup for the Vidor game. It is just another game on the schedule. That would be about like Central fans saying that Dayton is their rivalry game since they lost to them last year. Obviously a team wants to win every game but I would think Central fans have a huge desire to beat Ozen or WB other than winning a district championship.

That is correct Cardinal Supporter because for a true arch rival the game means just about as much as the district championsip itself. Ask someone from PN-G or Nederland which game is their rivalry game. You won't hear anyone say that they had a close game the last three years another team so that is their rival. No way. I see it written where people say that this team seems to be their arch rival or something like "I guess that team" is our rival. If you have to guess or sit and think about it, then it isn't a rivalry game. You don't choose your arch rival. It just happens over time.

It does not matter what name(s) you attach to the Demon's problems. It can be the head coach, general manager, assistant manager, owner, part owner, etc. All that matters is that the organization is responsible for the upkeep of the property that they have been allowed to use.

Let's say that I borrow a house from someone that uses this forum so that I can throw a party. It is larger than mine, has a nice patio for grilling and the pool is great. When you return to your house it is trashed and you wonder why I didn't clean it up after you were kind enough to loan it to me. My response, "Well, I told the guests at the door not to make a mess so I am not responsible. By the way, can I be back at your house next weekend because I am throwing another party". So is it the guests or me that is responsible and are you going to let me borrow your house again?

Nederland has had one of the most consistent offenses in the district for about the last 10 years. Nederland has had one of the district's top quarterback, running back or wide receiver (if not the top at one or more of those positions) long before Mosley arrived. I wonder what is prompting the change.

I have a hard time believing that 15k construction workers (if there are that many) are going to bring in up to 80k new residents. Most construction workers do not migrate with their families to a new job. They come from either aliens or coastal states and drive home on the weekends or a few times a year. There may be some increase in students but I think if anything, the number will be very small and have no impact on the local schools.

Ugly is giving them more credit than is due. You would think that they could at least outline the numbers with a darker color on the road uniforms.

Not exactly. I have to go with Scooter on this one. WO-S doesn't have the numbers anymore to play consistently with the larger teams. They have a great history behind them but it was time to drop to the lower classification. The Mustangs last three years in 4A there were no playoffs. As far as hype, WO-S hasn't exactly lived up to their hype going into 3A and haven't been any better in the playoffs than WB or PAM.
