I had a picture like that on a game camera about a week ago from Chester about 15 miles out of Woodville. I just chalked it up to being a coyote. I have seen some that looked like a wolf.

I don't think the deer were moving much this weekend in east Texas. Listening to the other leases surrounding ours on opening day usually sounds like a war zone. I think I heard 3 shots in the morning and two more in the afternoon. The other members of my lease didn't see much either and we have been seeing a lot on our game cams and when bow hunting recently. Either the deer just didn't move much or maybe some of the hunters have gotten a little wiser and quit shooting small deer in east Texas. My vote is for the deer not moving however. ;D

I let about a 2.5 year old nice 8 point slide by on Saturday afternoon. Maybe in a year or two he will be ready. I may kill a doe this afternoon if I get a shot at one. I have one more doe tag.

You bet it does. Mention that at McDonald's and for $1.59, they will give you a cup of regular coffee.

The good news is, after this week, it drops down to 2 games and 4 different scenarios.

By maxpreps ranking, Kelly wouldn't just beat every team in this area, no team could even stay on the field with them. That just about cinches up any ideas I might have had of registering with maxpreps.

Everyone knows that you cannot guarantee a poll ranking by who beat who unless a team is undefeated and even then it is questionable. So what if Nederland is ahead of PN-G? If LC-M with only one win on the year would have upset Nederland last week, would that have made them a top 20 team in the state because Nederland held that ranking the week before? Does it mean that they are a better team overall? Not hardly on either account. What happens when a team that is 5-3 on the year beats the #1 team in the state? Does that team then become #1? But wait, if they are #1 and 3 other teams have beaten then already, then they are all at #1, right? But which teams have beaten them? It is impossible to figure out which team should be ranked higher strictly off of the results of a single game. The numbers just won't add up. Rankings are nothing more than opinions, as everyone knows. Losing to a team does not and should not mean that the winning team should be ranked higher. If it did, it would be impossible to put out a poll since teams have beaten and lost to different teams.

You didn't hear any whining or violins from me after PN-G won. All I said was good game Indians, the team that wanted it most won. ;D

I think it is unsportsmanlike and in poor taste.

Actually I think Stewart and Neumann have had very similar careers at their respective schools. Both schools had fairly week records before their current coaches came along and both have made the playoffs pretty much ever since they arrived.

I "think" that a player that steps out of bounds cannot recieve a direct pass. That does not take the player out of the play.

Well, if maxpreps says that Kelly will win, then it is settled. Everyone else in 22-4A would be playing for second. :

He had to post bail to get out of jail immediately. The decision to drop charges aren't made until a prosecutor looks at the case. Assuming that the kid was arrested for Minor In Possession of Alcohol, it is the equivalent of a traffic citation. In most cities, that carries about a $25-$50 bond or even your word that you will show back up if you are a resident of that city. You can bond yourself out on a charge like that, literally in minutes. It maybe be several days later before the prosecutor sees the case and decides if he wants to file the charges in the city or Justice of the Peace court in that jurisdiction or to drop the charges altogether. The prosecutor can drop charges for whatever reason he wishes. It can be because the officer made a mistake, it can be because the kid's parents came in and begged for leniency or it can be because he went to school with the police chief's son. In other words, it is at the discretion of the prosecutor. In any case, it likely will not be determined until after the kid bonds out. Bonding out on that kind of charge is almost like signing a citation. You could be arrested for a MIP at 2:00pm and bond out by 2:30pm.
