Congrats Coldspring on a Championship season! You guys fought hard last night and the future looks bright for the Trojans.

That was a good game. The Katy secondary needs work. That speedy receiver for Tompkins toasted them three times. I still expect Katy to be in the State Championship mix though.

I think Diboll has the more complete team and should be favored in this matchup and they should defend their District Championship. However Coldspring did impress me in the Crockett game. Dline had a good rush and limited Crockett’s big plays. Parker-Harden is as good as advertised and the other RB (#9 I think) looked good as well. I really liked how Coldspring would sneak that TE out on quick pass routes which worked well. Diboll’s defense has played well since week 3 and they will need to step up again this week to get the W. The Diboll offense left about 21 points on the field when they played Crockett so they will need to clean that up this week.

I wouldn’t expect Diboll to go to the deep ball often. They will certainly try to lean heavily on the run game and pass enough just to keep the defense honest. Coldspring blitzed a lot against Crockett and was successful at getting into the backfield. Diboll will need to pop a couple of quick routes across the middle to keep the LBs in coverage because Coldspring always has good LBs.

Yes we do. We will throw several WR screens and short routes similar to Crockett but our QB does throw a decent deep ball. The pass game should be good enough to keep Coldspring from stacking the box against the run.

Yes I am! There will be some great RBs on display next Friday night. Both teams have studs that could take it to house on each carry. Coach Mo is definitely familiar with that Coldspring offense so it should be a good coaching matchup as well.

Had a couple mishaps in the red zone but we are still up 14-7 over Crockett. Crockett is athletic so we will need to execute in the 2nd half.

Lol...come on now we are in tune to our own games and scrolling for updates during a break in the action...and Bam! I see Jasper is losing to Shepherd. Can’t blame us for questioning that one.

Absolutely they can. Westwood struggled to stop the run against Diboll and Coldspring has a good run game. The Trojan offensive line just needs to do their job and Coldspring will be fine. #20 should have a big night against Westwood.

There are a few returning starters on defense, so I expected a better performance than they have shown so far.

Hahaha....I don’t think I’ve ever seen Livingston get a running clock. Honestly though Diboll is struggling right now to find there way.

To be honest not good. They have good size on the Oline but zero push so the RB’s are shaking tackles before they even get going. Diboll still sets up in a pass option offense but does not pass the ball with any effectiveness. Madisonville stacked the box and Liberty is stacking the box with no answer from my Lumberjacks. Nobody they play at this point will respect a passing game from Diboll. They are still rusty from a limited off season but right now they are not a threat in 3A D1 in my opinion...unfortunately.

Liberty is very scrappy like always and their defensive has held Diboll scoreless after two trips inside the red zone (missed field goal and fumble). I still think Diboll has all the pieces to be a solid team but they are just not there fundamentally. Hats off to Liberty for a good first half.

Yes I saw the same thing and that will need to change soon. You could tell the heat was a factor for Diboll’s lack of motivation. The trainers on Diboll’s sideline were busy the whole game working on cramps and keeping the kids cooled off. The 2:00 game was a very bad idea.
