1.
I may be wrong but, I can't think of anyone that uses it
I have heard it played by a school in West Texas but I can't remember who>
 2. That distance would be a breeze compared to Coleman Bluecat football district the next two years.  We were moved from a football district where district games were 20,35,50,78 & 94 miles away.  They put us in a football district with SanSaba (94mi), Harper (103mi),Junction (128mi,),Sonora (153mi) and Sonora (161mi). Coleman is in West Texas just 52 miles south of I-20.  We will be almost to I-10 at some games.  This is a result of splitting some of the divisions.Coleman is 2A Division II
Chester would travel 61 more miles in 6-man for all district games. It would be 399 miles in 6-man,338 miles in 11 man.
3. I remember the days when Liberty beat Dayton a lot.  I was also at the gamethat Dayton finally "won"  The only thing was that the films should that when that Dayton player crossed the goal line, the ball was in the hands of a Liberty Panther.  That call was the difference in the game and broke a winning streak for Liberty.  Needless to say, we were not to happy.
I hear ya but ya'll probably winning alot then,we were a team that got clobbered by LIBERTY pretty regular ;D ::)
4. Yes, isn't amazing how people tell other teams who they should play and who they should schedule.  I've never had to worry about that, but I would think that scheduling would not be easy.  Everyone gets the new district teams at the SAME TIME and they have to rush and try to fill there pre district schedules while every other team in the area are trying  to do the same thing! You might want to schedule a certain team, but no, someone else just called them and they are not available. 2172#msg762172 date=1266540807]

Liberty- Home Tarkington- Away West Hardin- Home
Hate to say it but these games will not prepare you for Newton Woodville EC Anahuac, need to play some competition that will get you ready for district play..
I'd say scheduling with the chance to get a couple or more wins under your belt sounds like a pretty good idea to me.
A weak pre-district schedule might get You a few Cheap Wins, but it won't help to prep for the likes of E.C., Anahuac, Woodville, Buna and Newton. You need to test Yourself against tough competion in order to have a shot at winning in district play, where the wins mean something.JMAO
Scheduling 2 local 3A teams is nothing to scoff at.  Who do you want them schedule?  Jasper, WO-S, Silsbee to get beat down??  Or maybe drive up to Carthage or Kirbyville and get slaughtered?  I mean get real they already have murder's row in district.  Who else is even left in the area for them to play that isn't already in their district?  Play good competitive games to build up whatever momentum you can to get ready for a very difficult district season.
5. I think most all of Texas will get to see Abilene High Eagles this year.  If I am not mistaken some or all of those games with out of state teams will be televised.  I don't know if it is FOX or ESPN or who, but there will be some television.

Does Lake Travis run whats considered "sissy-ball? Did Dodge run "sissy-ball" at SLC when they were busy winning multiple state championships in a row? I want to understand whats considered "sissy-ball."
i dont know......pass first, run and ask questions later?  Some teams can run the spread, some teams cant, and some teams have to mix it up to be successful. I know after seeing A-High twice last year for a RB to have close to 2,300 yards on the ground you must be doing something right.
6. Sometimes Coaches are not actively seeking a job but are asked to send a resume.  I live around 50 miles from Wylie...I don't think Coach Sandifer was looking to leave Wylie.  He's been there for about 24 years and done very well.  That is his home! I would not worry if Wylie paid him more....they can afford it!

When a coach decides to shop around for jobs that he has no intention of taking, whether a school district approaches you or not, to get a raise from you current school, is no longer in it for the kids. IMO
WHAT?  Forget the fact that coaching is his livelyhood, and when the opportunity presents itself for him to make more money, or get a little leverage to make more money he should do it everytime.  I guess its ok for anyone else, in any other profession to do the same thing though.  Congrats on Coach Sanifer's raise, and being one of the top paid coaches in Texas.  He deserves it.
7.
Can anyone from Hardin explain this to me? Why would the school district install that cheap carpet on the football field while they have 'blue tarps' still covering the holes in the schools roof? Was if for that 'big run' they planned in football this year?
"why bother to explain, "uknowit" already.
 8. Well Nanna, when you read a weeks worth of stuff like that ^^^^^above, you cannot critique' what you are reading now. : You are right, having to listen to that can get old. I guess right now I am referring to several posts. There can be some people that might see a few fanatics that ARE "classless" people from a town and suddenly they make it seem like all the fans are classless. It does not take too many people from somewhere to give the whole place a bad name. Nothing gets me more upset than for people to run down the coaches or the player---especially as one person mentioned, doing it where the family can not help but hear. I do not like hearing fans yelling to take a certain player out and put another in. I don't like hearing people yelling that the coaches can't coach. That's usually from someone who has never coached anything in their life. I know some people think that because they paid there money to get in that they have the right to ruin the game for everyone around them. Those people are obnoxious!! There was one dad at a town where I go to see sports events that has been banned by the school district from attending any of the schools athletic events for a year. Believe me, all the other fans are very happy! Sorry I'm on my soapbox. I guess I'm just saying don't judge a place by a few loud mouths (and yes, I'll admit I am guilty of this sometimes.)
 9. You and several EC fans are acting like EC completely blew Anahuac away. It sounds like two good teams played a very good game that could have gone either way. If losing by one point to a team was because of playing a "weak" pre district that is not saying much for the winner.-----in other words, you insulted two good teams at the same time.
 10. Very wise words. It seems to me there was so much hype built up this past year by the Hardin fans, this type of reaction was inevitable. This game and that night is now in the books, and everyone just needs to chill out and move on. well said.
 11. Maybe you need to read that post again. He was stating what could win the game for either team. The God Bless seemed to be for all.
 12. Let's see if we can put this is plain English so you people can understand. 1. Tim Tebow has nothing to do with this. He can not come back until a doctor clears him...so maybe he will be held out. 2. Mitch was wearing a brace so no, he would probably not look look injured. 3. If you put too much strain on an unhealed injury you could reinjure it and make it take longer to heal completely. 4. NO coach with an ounce of sense would take a chance on a player being out even longer because he let him play too much before he was completely ready. He doesn't want to do something stupid that might keep him out the rest of the season. 5. Every coach wants to win every game, 6. I hope you never coach a team of any kind, because you evidently put the win over the well being of the boys or girls on you team. 7. You don't act like a rebel for Christ. You run down the decisions others make and you don't even know the "why's" and the facts.
 13. Mitch was not fully recovered from the ankle injury and did not participate in full contact practice during the week of the game. He wanted to play but the coaches were relunctant to play him because he was not fully recovered from his injury. Mitch Villemez 7 68 9.7 0 0 10 yards a pop and they say he is "was too injured to play" ? : Gimmie a break! Its unfathomable to me that a coach would hold out someone to "later beat someone who they know they can beat". 10 yards a pop. Wow. I agree completely. If you have a guy who is averaging 10 yards per carry there is no reason to only give him 7 carries and get shut out. This basically looks like Hardin came in this game with their sack tucked back and ready to quit from the beginning. There is no excuse for that. "Hello?! You play to win the game!!" No excuse for that?? Are you a coach? I doubt it. The REASON would have been to not have him on the injury too much when it was not completely healed. DUH!! That would have been stupid. No, when the game got out of hand, it would have been idiotic!! Remember he hadn't practiced any that week.
 14. I am thinking of coming to SE Texas to the Hardin vs Anahuac game. Are there a lot of flu victims in either town? :-\ :-\
