Receivers not great at this point, slants and screens are not easy. If he had the kids from last three years, he would have over 2000 yards passing already. This also affects his confidence as a passer, why sometimes he slow to release the ball. I can think of 4 interceptions caused by ball bouncing out of receivers hands and into defender for Int. Some young kids out there, future looks good , as far as receivers though

No excuses, they played good enough to win, just too many big play mistakes and turnovers that took them out of the game. This is stuff they can correct and move on, they play hard, good system, good kids, just got to move forward and keep after it. Oh, and film showed the two Touchdowns called back were phantom calls, go figure

The top two leading tacklers for Silsbee were held out due to injury, ( linebackers) not sure outcome would have been any different, but might have slowed down couple big runs

not that Im aware of, but there was an 8th grader last year that might have had some games like that? Not sure if he is a varsity player this year as a freshman though? Might be a factor later in the year?

An athletic Staff members kid, there will be 7 to 8 coaches kids starting, will be a different dynamic for sure.

There is a receiver coming up from freshman team, that played with an injury , so he never got moved up to varsity. If he gets healthy, he will be as good as any before. He has speed we hadn't seen since Barnes. Not sure how progress is coming related to injury, don't believe he is running track this year.

most of what you saw on friday night was like a JV, if you figure in their age. It's a tough schedule, for the most part, but they could easily be 10 - 0. If Johnson stays healthy and the young running backs bring it, they will be very good. Receivers are questionable, but there is some good potential .

Problem is , if there here there not in the program, new coach will have to figure that out.

Giddings starts interviews next week, tough District, need to figure out how to compete with Bellville, Seally, and Madisonville
