1. Because of field and track construction at Lumberton Stadium and the "Plan B" stadium;  all three Pro Bowl games have been moved to Vidor Junior High field for Sat Dec 1st.    Games: PeeWee Pro Bowl at 10:00AM,             Junior at Noon             Senior at 2:00.   First credit goes to STJFL staff for finding a "plan C" and still having the tournament this weekend.  Special thanks to VISD Supt for helping out STJFL with only a couple days notice.    Contractors for both original sites, that were to begin next week,  arrived a week early at both locations.                                                                                see 'ya on the new field location                                                                                   videoguy

 4. Hello Friends and Families.   Most of you know what I am about to request.  Sheffield Productions has again been asked to tape for STJFL.  We will be there for the Pro Bowl games this weekend.  We ( Sheffield Productions ) need team rosters.  Two rosters; one for the stadium announcer and one for our production team broadcasting on the DVDs we offer for sale.  Actually, make that 3 rosters. One for the Stadium announcer and two for play-by-play and color announcers.  That way, they do not have to share one.   Players numbers should be listed in numerical order, players LAST NAMES first and then first names.  If there is any doubt which way a name can be pronounced, please include a phonetic listing ( example: Hebert. . . a-bear ).  Com'on guys,  it's not for the DVDs, it's for the players who deserve to HAVE THEIR NAMES SAID CORRECTLY over the public address and on the DVDs.  If you have any stat sheets for team or players, please include these also.     Please bring rosters to our DVD order tables.  Our ladies will get them to the announcers up top.   This shoot will be similar to what we did for the semi-finals at PN-G stadium.  It will be a two camera shoot with announcers.  The crew has been downsized, but so has the price;  the DVDs will be $20 and can be ordered anytime during the day or game.  This DVD is ready to take home that same day.  DVD duplication is done on site and copies are made ASAP after each game.  A wonderful keepsake for all of these young athletes to have and view for years to come.   Our track record is not only taping for STJFL for the past 5 seasons, but being the film crew for Fox 4's Friday Night Experience for the last few seasons.  Sheffield Productions locally owned and operated since 1985 and we are again thrilled to be asked back by STJFL.    By popular request and because they are so good , the "Twin Sisters" will be the two cameras uptop with their fantastic "zoom" ability making them a major part of our broadcast.                                                                  Thank you again,                                                                   see 'ya on the field, videoguy
 5. Sheffield Productions has been invited to tape the games of Jr Micounty Madness at Bulldog Stadium.  We will be there with our full crew and the "Twin Sisters".    Help our production by bringing 3 copies of your team roster for our announcers and the stadium announcer to use.  See our older thread on "roster requests" for full details.  Thanks again for the invite,  best of luck to all the young athletes.                                                                   see 'ya on the field, videoguy
 6. A long and fun Sunday.  Thanks to all teams that responded to the "roster request".  Congrats to both teams that it made to the Big Game after a full season.  see 'ya on the field, videoguy
 7.
Is there a schedule of game times and teams playing yet? Would like to catch some of the action.
I checked the STJFL website,  but the matchups and times have not been posted yet. We were told starting time for 1st game is 8:00AM, second game at 9:00 and games at 2 hour intervals after that.                                                                                                                               see 'ya on the field, videoguy
 8. Hello Friends and Families.  Most of you know what I am about to request.  Sheffield Productions has again been asked to tape all 7 games for this huge weekend.  We ( Sheffield Productions ) need team rosters.  Two rosters; one for the stadium announcer and one for our production team broadcasting on the DVDs we offer for sale.  Actually, make that 3 rosters. One for the Stadium announcer and two for play-by-play and color announcers Charlie Jehlen and Brian English.  That way, they do not have to share one.   Players numbers should be listed in numerical order, players LAST NAMES first and then first names.  If there is any doubt which way a name can be pronounced, please include a phonetic listing ( example: Hebert. . . a-bear ).  Com'on guys,  it's not for the DVDs, it's for the players who deserve to HAVE THEIR NAMES SAID CORRECTLY.  If you have any stat sheets for team or players, please include these also.     Please bring rosters to our DVD order tables set up under the stands on the home side of LU stadium.  Our ladies will get them to the announcers up top.   A quick explanation for anyone having questions on what our production will offer.  In a nutshell: a multi-camera shoot incorporating cameras up top and on the field supported with numerous replays and two experienced announcers doing color and play-by-play.  All of this on a DVD that can be ordered anytime during the day or game. By popular request and because they are so good , the "Twin Sisters" will be present and a major part of our broadcast.                                                                  Thank you again,                                                                   see 'ya on the field, videoguy
 9.
I was wondering where Sheffield productions went after he left Dayton
The Sheffield from Dayton you are talking about is a good guy,  I was fortunate enough to meet him years ago and I take it as a is a compliment that you thought I was Russell.    BUT, I'm not him.    Sheffield Productions is based in Port Neches ( Nederland School District) since 1985 and has taping games as a founding member of Friday Night Experience for 18 years.  Nederland Class of '70 and I've got the gray hair to prove it.  see 'ya on the field, videoguy
 10.
It is a shame that this week there will be no Friday Night Experience on TV this week. Hopefully the FNE will be back on TV for at least Mid-County Maddness... Sheffield Productions will be at the Nederland game this week and will be selling DVD'S of the game. Let's all support Sheffield Productions since they do such an outstanding job...
Thanks for all the support and praise,  but know it was Nederland Booster Club that stepped up  and picked up the cost for the Homecoming game DVD.  Please support this fine effort by purchasing a DVD of the homecoming activities.  Naturally the full game , plus clips from  the pots and pans parade, bonfire, pep ralley, and the homecoming parade will be on the DVD.  All this in a DVD case designed by the journalism class at NHS..    It is still not to late for a business or proud parent to have an ad or "shoutout" to a player , Westernaire, band member or someone in the homecoming court.  We will be editing on the DVD the next two weeks and ads and "shoutout" can still be called called in/ mailed in to the Booster Club or Sheffield Productions.    All money for these and the full price of the DVD goes to the Booster club .   Fox 4 had a full agenda with LU Sat and didn't have the needed crew to broadcast a High School game this week.  We hope to be back again with FNE and Fox 4 in the upcoming weeks.   Thanks again to Nederland Booster Club for stepping up and making this memorable DVD available to fans, friends  and families out there.  see 'ya on the field, videoguy
 11.   Sheffield Productions has been invited to tape the Ned vs PNG matchups for Jr MidCounty Madness.    We are asking coaches to again bring us 3 rosters .  That will give the stadium anouncer and our two announcers one each.  It is a small request, but it helps an announcer so much if the numbers are in order and the player's names written out like they are pronounced . .  phonetically.  This helps all on finding the names quickly and pronouncing a name correctly.  thanks to all that did this for the Pro/Super Bowl games.    Our apologies to those who bought DVDs of the games where a roster was not brought up to us till halftime and another which only had last names.    There were REPEATED requests over the public address to correct these , but to no avail.  please help us in these matters.  These future stars work so hard and we want to give credit to the right star and pronounce his name correctly.  see ya on the field, videoguy
 12.
Are you still selling the game DVDs from the Flag game yesterday?  We didn't get a chance to purchase one yesterday.
Yes, we still have DVds from the flag game available.  Please email or call and I will let you know how to order and get one asap.  The instructions will be to  send $30 to this, our home address and we will send the game immediately to your address.    On another note,  is there a game from past years that you or someone had wish they had bought, but didn't?  We still have all our originals and can easily make DVDs from these .  They still make great keepsakes.    videoguy, see ya on the field
 13.
Videoguy, my dvd of the game starts at halftime. My name is Tony Dallas, please call me so I can get another dvd. My number is 409-882-1943. Thank you. 14.
Will you be taping the flag team?
Yes, we will be taping the flag team.  We will be taping ALL 7 games and offering DVDs for sale to take home that day.  I forget that a lot of parents don't know us or what we do.  Imagine a "minature" Monday Nite Football broadcast style of shooting.  We have two announcers doing play by play and color, supported by 4 cameras and mult-replay.  This is NOT a highlight DVD, but a full game with all the closeups, action shots and replays.    DVDs are duplicated ASAP after each game.  Each DVD is enclosed in a fully enclosed case with a beautiful STJFL wraparound cover befitting the weekend.    Please come by our table, located beneath the stands, on the home side.  We will have a monitor showing you EXACTLY what you are purchasing.      see ya on the field, videoguy
 15.
Dear VideoGuy: Please be sure to tape the Pee Wee Pro Bowl at 8am.  Thanks.
Watching/taping a 9 - 1 High School team in the playoffs or PeeWee in ProBowl.  Close Call, but the PeeWee groups soooo much fun to pull for and watch in action.  We'll be there.  OMG,  8:00AM    videoguy
 16. As approved by STJFL, Sheffield Productions will be taping and selling SuperBowl and ProBowl DVDs at Lamar Universiy this Saturday.  DVDs will be the same price as previous years ( $30 ) and will feature the play by play and color talents of Charlie Jehlen and Greg Chesser.  These two capable talents will be backed by our full multi-camera  and replay crew.  This is our 5th season to tape STJFL tournaments and we are excited to be back.    We have had a full season with Fox 4 and Friday Night Experience from week 0 till week 11.  As much fun as the high school games were to tape and broadcast ,  it is the excitement level of Junior League Football  that really pumps us up.   As usual, DVDs will be available for purchase and take home as soon as copies are available after the game.  We do need something from the coaches or team moms.  We ask for each participating team to furnish 3 rosters to the pressbox.  One will be for the stadium announcer and the other two for our announcers.  One each for Charlie and Greg so they don't have to share.  If there is any possible way your player's name could have different pronounciations, please show this on the roster.  A phonetic spelling is a must and is considerable help in crediting these young stars.      As in year's past, these DVDs have become favorite family keepsakes. . .a gift to watch that night or a wonderful stocking stuffer for the holidays.    Good luck to all players and coaches.     see ya on the field, videoguy
 17. Again, I apologize to all in Lumberton that bought DVDs last season.  Corrected DVDs have been sent your way.    Rather lengthy message has been left under another thread asking "Videoguy, where are you?"
 18.
Yep, we have been trying to get in touch with Sheffield Productions for a year now.  Even posted on this forum looking for him.  He will not return calls.  At the end of last season he made some mistakes on 2 Lumberton teams videos and he said he would correct the mistakes and send them to one of our moms.  She tried repeatedly to contact him and get the videos but he never sent them.  So, I really hope he comes out of hiding for the playoffs this year so we can finally get money back or vidoes.  If I had my guess though, I bet he doesnt.
Please read the rather lengthy post to demons95.  It is not an excuse on what happened, but an apology.  If you are due a corrected DVD and have not received it yet, please contact Jennifer Hazlett.  I deliveried the corrected DVDs to her Sat at the WOS weekend.  If you cannot reach her, please call me ( yes I answer phone calls) or email me.  722-3661 , [email protected].  Both those contact numbers are on every DVD we sale.    I am sorry I took this long to right this wrong.  videoguy
 19.
Hopefully he will get about 30 people from Lumberton the corrected videos that they paid for and never received.  Several phone calls and emails to no response. Yeah video guy where are you?  You have my MONEY.  Just found exact total of videos is 60 that were screwed up.  60X$30=$1800.  I don't know bout yall but here in the hood that is a bunch of dang money.
Ok Demon95, here I am.  Before I go any further, I need to apologize to you and the Lumberton fans I disappointed, agraviated, and upset.  No Excuses, I SCREWED UP and should have deliveried the corrected DVDs AS PROMISED last year!          Last Sat I hand deliveried corrected DVDs of both games to Jennifer Hazlett at the WOS playoff site.  Mrs Hazlett is the wonderful lady that had originally contacted me, sent me complete rosters ( which we added to the videos)  and said she would distribute them to all the parents who bought.    If you have not heard from her or do not have your video by now,  please call her or contact me.   Yes, I said contact me.  Regardless of what you have read on this board, our HOME phone number and email address is on every DVD we sell.  If you called and I missed you, I am sorry.  Our home is our business.  I read about all the messages left "unanswered on my recorder";  I scratch my head over that one. . . We haven't used an answering maching in over 10 years.  Ask my friends, as they rib me about that all the time.   Bottom line, there was never any maliciousness or rip-off scheme involved.  Just an idiot at this end that made corrected DVDs, let them sit unattended and collect dust .    Wish I knew how you knew it was 60 DVDs, as that's a dang bunch of money in my hood too.    In the semi-finals the winning team bought 17 DVDs and the losers bought 2.  I deliveried TWO corrected DVDs to everyone that purchased.  That didn't correct the wrongness done to Lumberton parents, but I wanted to show there was never any rip-off attempt involved.   On the Super Bowl DVD, I couldn't find the list of who purchased.  I believe about a dozen or so purchased, but that was just from memory.  I counted the numbers on each team's roster and sent each player's family a DVD.  That was 43 DVDs total.  Afraid it made Mrs Hazlett's workload that much harder, but it only seemed fair to give each one a DVD than leave out a family that had paid.      None of the above corrects my stupidness on disappointing the Lumberton fans.  It was just a gesture to show we were never trying to cheat anyone.   Last, but not least, those wondering why we didn't answer posts on this forum.  I haven't logged on or read posts on SETX sports in almost a year.  Nothing to do with this league, which always seems to support the youth and have fun razzing each other.  I had been very disappointed in the viciousness of the high school postings and just quit reading this forum.  One of my camera guys read these posts and called me.  Yeah, on my home phone, which I answer.    After I finish apologizing to Lumberton fans I will post and let all know that we will be taping at Lamar University and selling DVDs.  The tapings were cleared with approval from STJFL.    Lumberton, be mad, be unforgiving if you wish, but it was never an attempt to pocket money at someone's expense or rip anyone off.  Just the stupid actions of this poster.    see ya on the field, videoguy
 20.
What are the game schedules?
9:00  Flag 10:00  Pee Wee 11:30  Junior 1:30    Senior   Nederland Bulldog Stadium   If there are other "rivalries" or Bowl series on the high school level out there- the communities should consider what the MidCounty bunch is doing on this "Jr" level series.  It is a fun thing for parents and fans alike, plus another exciting game for the players.
 21.   Ok, team moms and coaches;  you know the drill.  We need team rosters before your game Sat.  3 rosters in numerical order and phoentic pronounciations if a name can even be dreamed of being called out wrong.  PLease help us in this matter.  I am so disappointed in parents calling after the game to let us know the stadium announcer or our color announcers on the DVD pronounced a young athlete's name wrong when either no roster was furnished or an incomplete one was given to us.  If it's our fault, I'll fade the heat;  but we are still getting hand written ( not written but scribbled ) rosters during the first quarter of that game.  I should be thrilled we are getting these, but that is where a lot of the trouble stems from.  Incomplete rosters abound. Everyone knows of one or two players on the team whose name is going to give someone fits trying to say it correctly.  Help us out here folks!    Email ( [email protected] ) or PM the roster to me BEFORE Friday night  and I will include the full roster on the rolling credits at the end of the game.  Yes, some teams have already done so. . . thank you.   In answer to the PMs I have been getting-  NISD is again allowing Sheffield Productions to use the video board.  Our announcers on the DVD will be Charlie Jehlen and Nick Canizales:  the voices of Fox 4 and Lamar Football.  Replay decks are already cued up and ready to record.   A thank you to STJFL and the Jr MidCounty Madness teams for inviting us back this year.  This season, Sheffield Productions has been priviliged enough to tape for 3 local TV stations and Time Warner Cable.  Delayed high school games aired on two stations while KFDM aired theirs live to all of Southeast Texas.  Even with all of that,  our crew votes the STJFL and MidCounty Madness as the most fun to attend, watch and record.  To capture these young athletes on DVD has been exciting and a blessing to remind us what how the true spirit of the game is be upheld.  Special thanks to all coaches invovled in keeping this aspect of the sport alive.  see ya on the field, videoguy
 22.
Is there a email address so we can get the rosters to you?
Sorry, meant to say PM, but email is fine if the forum permits it.  [email protected]  ,see ya on the field, videoguy
 23.
As far as Jr MCM...will the names of the alternates be included?  Our flag team has 2.
Please make sure they are on the roster.  During several of the games, our announcers read the roster list instead of just the starting defensive and offensive lineups.  I thought it was a nice touch, but wasn't sure if they had time to do it for every game.    If the each Jr MidCounty team will email me their roster, I will enter them and roll them as part of the credits at the end of the game.  This would be better than trying to read all those names at the front of the game.    To do this, I need the rosters in the next few days. . . not Friday night or Saturday morning!!!  I will in turn take these rosters and give it to our announcers and the PA  announcer.    thanks, see ya on the field, videoguy
 24. I was a little disappointed that the "meeting in the middle of the team captains" was not on the tape but then, again, I just like seeing my son on video!  ;D Videoguy: you are the best!   THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!
Queenb77630   excellent critque on missing the captains in the middle.  Others have asked why the teams running through the banners are not on the DVDs or the introduction of teams like we have done in some years past.    Answers to all three questions is the space between games and our recordings.    There simply isn't enough time.    While teams exit, our announcers wrapup and we roll credits,  write to disc and finalize 3 separate "Master" DVDs.  All of this going on while teams are coming on the field, coin toss and prepare for kickoff.  The games are so close together and we are saddled with the time it takes to write and finalize the DVDs.  Twice,  we actually had to go onto the field and ask the Refs for just a few more seconds ( thank you again  Refs ) or minutes while these tasks were done.  I DID NOT EVEN like having to step up and ask for a delay, but ths was done twice just so we can do prepare the masters AND load the new DVDs for recording and catch kickoff.    Parents and viewers, do you realize there are no official media time outs, no break between games and we still taped halftimes which is usually the "traditional break" for the crew. . . short as it is?  We do not have the luxury of two full crews.  That is a luxury with a cost that we feel would not be fair to pass onto the league or the customers.  Meanwhile, we have a couple of subs that try to give all crew members a quick rotating break while others keep working.  No lunch break either!!!  Our crew was woofing down a link or pizza slice while rolling a replay or getting a "tight shot".  YEAH, probably way more infromation than you wanted to hear . . . but my crew works so hard and I just wanted to brag on them a minute.  Thanks for indulging me.    Bottom line,  WE DO listen to suggestions, constructive critiques ( good and bad ) and fresh ideas to better the broadcast.  Our thoughs have always been;  " its not a broadcast as much as it is a time capsule and video memory of a young athlete".    see ya on the field, videoguy
 25.   Sheffield Productions got fussed at Sat.  Some things we brought on ourselves and some could had  been prevented.   I was disappointed in our "quality control" as we recorded a Lumberton game with the wrong intro.  We didn't even catch the error until it was pointed out to us by the parents that bought the DVD.  Several Moms asked ( demanded ) that we correct the DVD and give them another copy right then.  Wish that we could.  The whole production trailer is tied up doing a "live" game and we don't have the resources or time to correct, reproduce ( would take real time of 2 hours ) and then duplicate the correction.  Actually the duplication would be the easy part.  The correction to a DVD and reproducing the DVD in real time is the slowdown.  Even if we had the time: all the production equipment in the trailer is dedicated to the broadcast.    We will be sending corrected DVDs ASAP this week to the purchasers of the mis-titled DVD.  I felt very bad that this had happened the week before and no one had told us.  I was really disappointed to learn it had happened to the same Lumberton team.  Again we are doing our best to correct this oversight.    A group was also very upset that we pronounced several names wrong on the DVD broadcast.  Parents: please,  we pleaded for two weeks for a complete roster, with names and numbers.  We stressed the idea of any name that could be possibly be pronounced wrong to send us a "phoentic" spelling.  The roster was sent, but we were on our own how to say several of the names.    I don't know what else our announcers can do it a situation like this.  I'm very sorry your son's name was mispronounced, but we cannot correct the audio portion of the DVD.  Every week, on the radio shows of football games,  I hear names I know are said wrong but I don't think the station is getting the flak we get and we ARE trying our best.    This is another appeal for rosters for the Jr Mid-County Madness games.  Please: 3 copies of rosters in numerical order with any help you can give us on correct pronunciations.  We tape this like a live event;  produce an edited master and make DVDs available on site.  We try and put our best foot foward on something we know will become a keepsake for years to come;  help us out with the rosters.      Thank you all for the input and the purchases.  see ya on the field, videoguy
