  1. Well, when you don't execute anything, it really doesn't matter whats called. We just didn't look very good tonight and it had nothing to do with coaching.
  2. Are you referring to me? I watched the first set of plays for each team. Normally, the starters work in the first set and the backups in the second. I left after that. If that's not how it worked today then I'm sorry, sure as heck wasn't trying to insult you, jeez! However, in each teams first set of plays, Kelly was the only team to score. Krautz looked good and the other back (#2, the big guy) didn't have positive yards rushing. I left after the first set of plays which I made pretty clear in my original post.
  3. Can't argue with that, Dayton dominated tonight. Green and Dugat looked good as did the backup QB. The other Dayton recievers also did very well. WOS had chances deep in Dayton territory, but came up empty as well as the dropped deep ball that was wide open, but other than that, it was all Dayton. I truly hope it's because Dayton is that good and not that were that bad. If you don't bring some heat on Green he will pick you apart. The Dayton O-line looked very good too. Green mowed the lawn, did the laundry and took out the trash and still had time to throw back there. I really think Dayton is going to do some great things this year. WOS will be ok, we just ran into a buzz saw tonight. It will probably be the best team we see all year, which is tough in your first bit of action. Our coaches will regroup the kids and we'll be just fine!
  4. I left after the first teams went through their plays. There may have been more scoring after I left by the second teams.
  5. Thanks Coop #2. Krautz definitely had a much better scrimmage than Grogan. I think both carries I saw from him went for negative yards (Grogan).
  6. Yes, he had a few strong runs. The very first play he probably broke 5 tackles on a 15 yard run. He runs tough, I like that.
  7. The conditions played a part in the passing game today.
  8. Both of these coaches see this as an opportunity to basically get in another game. that's why its a 4 qtr game scrimmage. The more games you can play the better. The only difference between tomorrow and a real game is that they will not go full speed in the kicking game. Sounds good. It is a game scrimmage with the intentions of doing several things. Get the returning players warmed up and the youngster some game experience. I think this situation is great for both teams. You get see how you measure up against another very good team and again see your new players go against a real opponent. But, neither of these coaches is OK with losing scrimmage or not. It will be a good "game" to watch I am sure. I am ready!! You guys wanting to do some sort of meet and greet? I'm up for it... time and place?? how about at the half at the east end of the field??
  9. I left the three headed scrimmage between Ned/Kelly/Silsbee after the first teams played. Kelly was the only team that scored. Kelly went against Silsbee's D. Silsbee went against Nederland's D and Ned went against Kelly's D. Nederland had a long drive stall inside the Kelly 30 and Silsbee had a drive stall inside the Ned 40, that's as close as they got. Overall, Kelly and Nederland's offenses moved the ball well. Nederland's D looked pretty good against Silsbee's O. What stould out to me was the Nederland running back, (#22) don't know his name. The Ned QB looked pretty good as well. The Ned O line looked smallish compared to years past, but they looked athletic which is good if they are going to run the spread. I was also impressed with the Kelly running back (#2) as well as Kelly's QB.
  10. Well, if that's true, it will be a change from years past. I've been watching them for as long as I can remember and the starters usually get the reps for the first 3 qtrs.

  12. Will the Ned/Silsbee/Kelly scrim be a Jamboree or 25 play type of deal?
  13. WOS and Dayton have always played game scrimmages. They were both part of a couple of Jamborees back in the 90's, the results of which I can't remember. In 2001, WOS won their game scrimmage with Dayton 24-7. In 2004, Dayton won at their place 26-21 and in 2005, they played to a 14-14 tie at WOS. Unless I'm forgetting one, the actual scrimmage record (if anyone even keeps one) is 1-1-1. ;D

  15. Does anyone know what format this will be? Is it a Jamboree or just a set number of plays run against each team?
  16. This game would not be pretty.
  17. WOS vs Dayton... Is the Jasper vs PNG a 4qtr game scrimmage? If so, what time?
  18. Yeah soulja, as much as I hate to say it, the intent here is kind of obvious. :
  19. I don't think anyone is saying that the BC decline is due to not using steroids. I truly believe last year was due to youth. IMO, the results from not using the roids will show years down the line when the consistency of the programs using is no longer there.
  20. I'm not avoiding toes, I assure you. I just think Nederl and will be pretty good this year. I feel like we will be to. It's going to be a good, tough game. I don't think anyone can guarantee anything in this one. I think you should be careful with that "hands down" thing. JMO. I remember a few years back when someone planned a "Victory Celebration" at Sandersons before the game was actually played. That flew like a lead balloon. You don't want to be eating that kind of crow... ;D
  21. quote author=BCparent link=topic=41220.msg409374#msg409374 date=1218616300]wake up and smell the coffee....it is used in EVERY school and the kids will tell you!! My friend, I've been smelling it for a long time. I do, however, smell quite a bit about your post and sure as heck ain't coffee...
  22. Just hope both teams come out of it healthy.
  23. That's true. Didn't I read that they played last year? Maybe this was something that LA did after last year (move the season back a week). At any rate, I would be highly upset if a team up and dropped on me 2 weeks before the season started. I'm surprised that they were able to find someone to play on such short notice.
  24. I can kind of see where Stump is coming from. New coach, new season, new start, new attitude, new logo. Heck, it's worth a try.
