  1. Coop, with the relative little water mass between Cuba and FL, do you really see this storm strengthening to over a Cat 2? If so, what's the strongest you see it getting?
  2. I'll have to back Coop on that one. I remember that he told me that Monday that he was EXTREMELY worried about Rita from the time she entered the Gulf.
  3. Thank God for BH they are... I was almost embarrassed for you.
  4. I think you may need to be putting a little more stock in them...
  5. I REALLY like this last model. I guess our threat is diminishing by the hour, that's a good thing, although I'm sure we're not out of the woods yet. If we can get past this one and the one next month, we may have this season licked, right Coop? By the way, how do they come up with the Farmers Almanac anyway? Is it a bunch of historical data compiled and used to make guesses on what will happen with the weather in the future? If so, I'm wondering if Rita was actually supposed to be this year according to the Almanac, because the history that I've seen of hurricanes hitting this area shows that we get hit every 42 years or something like that.
  6. That's a good write up and some very good kudos from Jeff Mathews. He's a class act.
  7. Coop, is the latest model making you feel a little more at ease?
  8. That is soooooooo sweet!!! I know LA, MS, FL and GA have had their share of storms, but so have we. Hopefully, it will keep weakening.
  9. Vidor did play pretty tenacious out there. They have some big old boys, too. WO-S looked well oiled on both sides. We need to eliminate the penalties, but over all, I think we're ready to start.
  10. Is the number on the hurricane in the Accuweather model the predicted strength of the storm? If so, we could live with a Cat 2 storm, couldn't we?
  11. I was just told that they are predicting this thing is going to hit High Island. Is this true? That's all we need...
  12. Because that is the only way to measure whether or not the players you have in place were successful. You have to have a measure, scores and stats are that measure. THAT is why they DO mean something even if they don't count. There is a BIG difference between not counting and not meaning anything. Anyway, I think this subject is played out. Good luck to everyone this weekend. Whether they mean anything or not... sorry, couldn't resist.
  13. Jerry, this is the first time I read this thread. I'm sooooo glad your boy is OK. God is good! Now, sit back, breathe a BIG sigh of relief and go play some golf and enjoy the football season. Hope to see you soon! Brent
  14. We know the game doesn't count toward your record. That really goes without saying. If you think that a coach doesn't care if his team performs poorly OR doesn't want to win the scrimmage, you are sorely mistaken.
  15. Usually the folks whose teams either tied or got beat say they don't mean anything and those whose teams performed well think they do. Reality is somewhere in the middle.
  16. I expect OF to be twice the team than that BH team I saw last night was.
  17. Where is it? I've been looking for a button or something, but can't find it anywhere.
