I don't think those number are accurate. I think he went off of the numbers posted on another post and those weren't accurate either. I'll give you the actual numbers for the top 5 on his list as soon as I have a chance.

According to the Enterprise, using data from all of their games. Central is giving up 101 yards per game on the ground and Dayton is at 135.5. -
Tough Subject "Coaches on the hot seat?"
Gasilla replied to ozens fastest@1906's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Well, that ONE school is going to have to get some continuity with their coach and allow someone to BUILD a program and not deal with what they've inherited from the last temporary resident. The only way this will happen is with patience from the fan base AND the school board. -
Judging JV teams can be tricky. If the JV is successful, but are made up of predominantly Juniors then that doesn't necessarily translate into a succesful varsity. If they are predominantly Sophomores, then they could translate into success. I agree with someone earlier who posted that it's best to keep an eye on the freshman teams, if they are all kept together, which most schools do.

Hardin-Jefferson at WO-S Predictions
Gasilla replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
WO-S players and coaches are very well aware of the potential that HJ presents and will not be taking them lightly as some fans from other schools are predicting. Anything can happen on any Friday and they know that HJ will be coming at them with all they've got. It should be a great game. -
Bevil vs Dayton 11-17-0 for 163 yards and 2 TD's Dayton QB 4-18-1 for 62 yards and no TD's

WO-S-46 Kirbyville-16 FINAL/Post Game Comments
Gasilla replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I know I'm being a homer here, but you are absolutely correct about that. We have some really talented receivers this year. Along with Franks and Thomas we have Ronnie Dennis, Dominique Rhodes and Jemere Batist. All of which would probably be the number one receiver on most other teams. All of them can catch anything thrown at them and they all have great speed. Running the ball we have, of course, DePauldrick and Earl, but we also have Kendrick LeBlanc who is probably a combination of DPG and Earl, but doesn't play it as much because he stays on the field on defense. Now you guys can see what we WO-S folks have been talking about since the beginning of the year. We don't have Beasley anymore, but as a TEAM, we are better. Most people don't understand, but last year, other than Beasley, we were a very young team. We wouldn't have been near the team we were LAST year. This year is a different deal. -

WO-S JV 5-0 Freshman 3-1-1 against some pretty stiff competition. -

I guess a 54-0 shut out isn't very impressive... oh well, it will not take long to see who is the best out of WO-S and Giddings.

OF gets over the hump on this one. They realized Friday that they can play with the big boys. This week they beat one. 8)

HOW STRONG IS SOUTHEAST TEXAS FOOTBALL???
Gasilla replied to whsalum's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Parity is not necessarily a sign of weakness. -
First of all, I want to point out that no one predicting a blowout is from WO-S. I have spoken to a few coaches that have seen Kville a couple of times and they definitely have our utmost attention. This should be a good, hard fought, very physical game. Both teams will bring the hat.

We were absolutely NOT ready for the spread offense. We had seen it in games. Practiced against it, but nothing could prepare us for facing a team with the talent Ennis had running the spread to perfection. We have since become much better at defensing it. That was the first time we had actually played anyone who ran it and we experienced the same problems that LaMarque did when they ran into Stephenville. Coach T made adjustments in the second half that helped, but it was to late by that time.

I'm not trying to offend anyone here, but a lot is being said about the Silsbee offense. This is just me, but It seems that the attention needs to be on the defense. Giving up 28 points a game is not going to cut it in the playoffs, D1 or D2. If they could shore up the defense, they could better use that bll control veer offense and not have to score so many points. Also, WO-S will be happy to make the playoffs, D1 or D2, it don't matter to us.

In three games we have 584 rushing yards and 444 passing. I'd say that's pretty balanced.
-
Andre is fine. He was held out of all practices last week and he says he's ready to go.
-
Come on dude... a 99 yard screen pass does not a passing game, make.
-
I see it this way, Silsbee gave up 21 points to Lumberton in a scrim and 27, 32 and 24 in their games. Obviously, the defense can be scored on. OF has a much improved offense and a 3 year starter at QB who can beat you with his arm or his feet. Silsbee has a great running game but the passing game is nonexistent. Blake Morrison is a great coach and was a defensive coordinator. He is going to stack the line and try to force Silsbee to throw. If they are successful, they sneak out with an impressive win, if not, the game will still be close.

Just one correction TVC, WB started 0-3 and lost to TJ in district. They entered the playoffs at 6-4. Please continue...
