  1. Stepchild and Cubfan12 In the 2000 playoffs LCM faced a team with a great pitcher. However he did not throw 7 innings on Thursday and come back to throw 6 innings on Saturday. He threw 7 innings on Thursday and SEVEN innings on Saturday in relief. The team LCM defeated on that Saturday? The Brenham Cubs Now that the shoe is on the other foot, do you stand by all of the comments you made like the one below? "And the Coach should be removed of his duties immediately and brought up on charges of child abuse!!! How can a parent allow someone to do that to there child? Simply idiotic and unexcuseable."
  2. We are not buying it utguy. Sour grapes. Our coach plays to win. He always has and always will. Come up with a different reason why your boy did not get to play.
  3. I don't know about total for the game, but one inning ended with the bases loaded and a fine catch of a line drive by Nederland's center fielder.
  4. The kids say we fertilized the field Wednesday and again Thurdsday and were hoping to get some rain on our field early Friday morning because our grass was near death. Without a little water and then a tarping would have been the end of our grass all together. Even with well over an inch of rain and a lake on the field at noon Friday, we could almost have gotten this one in tonight. I am certain we could have had it ready for a nine o'clock start. The field should be at its best Saturday for a big game for both teams.
  5. Dallas Brown is our #1 and if all we could score off of Harrington was one run, I am glad we have him ready for Ozen. If that's the case then why didn't they throw him in the biggest game of the season so far. That game last night was for sole possession of first place. I found it interesting that Barry and Cloeren were not in the line up last night. Terrier Cloeren played the whole game. Barry played the whole game. Pitching Brown against PNG, Dayton, and Lumberton on Tuesdays is not the route our coaches chose. He will face Ozen (one of the five teams still in playoff contention), Nederland, (another of the five teams still in playoff contention), and Vidor (another of the five teams still in playoff contention)
  6. Dallas Brown threw one inning on Monday and was availible on Tuesday in relief. I think the only way we would have seen him on Tuesday was if we had a lead and as we saw that was never the case.
  7. Dallas Brown is our #1 and if all we could score off of Harrington was one run, I am glad we have him ready for Ozen.
  8. That person was mistaken. We threw one of the best we have at Central. Just like Nederland did tonight. Central is dangerous. I bet after losing to Central last year and escaping with a one run victory this year, they will agree. And didn't Central play Vidor close?
  9. Quote of the year by a coach: "You can't slide to avoid a tag".
  10. FYI Drove by both Central and Ozens field today a couple of times. One of the two schools was making an attempt to play today.
  11. I think LCM has actually hit 24. If my math is correct, they have hit 11 HR's on the road in 9 games and 13 HR's at home in 9 games. I do recall that the Bears hit 9 HR's in the Brenham Tournament.
  12. I went and checked our tournament schedule and found only one out of thirteen tournament games was against UIL 3A schools. Thats three pretty good baseball names in front of each of those tournaments. LCM, Brenham, New Caney. Between these three tounaments we did play three well respected Private Schools as well. Skills, you are getting quite the rep for trash talk on here. Your posts after our game and Nederland game are about as cocky as it gets. I just hope you can back it up. If you can't, these people will be getting in line to remind you of your comments. Good luck with the season and try to tone it down a notch.
  13. Central threw in the towel with bases loaded, one out, in the bottom of the fourth. LCM had entered every available player on the lineup card. Back to back pinch hitters had big hits. One off of the top of the centerfield wall, followed by a three run homer.
  14. I think the Bears are 5-0 after week one. wins over: West Orange Stark Lake Charles St. Louis Hamshire Fannett Beaumont Kelly Crosby Five Home runs: Tim Barry 1 Wade Estes 1 Matt Johnson 3
  15. LCM 17 Beaumont Kelly 12 LCM HR's Cloeren, Estes, Brown Kelly had one or two HR's as well LCM threw 10 Pitchers Kelly threw 6 or 7 Pitchers
  16. THE WHEELS FELL OFF THE CART WEEKS AGO! We need to go into "avoid embarassing events such as ejections" mode.
  17. The Stark Foundation is not involved with Inspire Twelve at this time. We are happy to be included in Inspire Twelve though. If my child receives even close to the $300 a month my taxes are going up, I will be thrilled.
  18. What are you saying Orange's benefit are? What money are we getting from the Stark Foundation?
  19. UG LY! is the word used by most to decribe what happened here tonight.
  20. Don't know how they are doing, but you missed three LCM guys in the minor leagues. Tyler Reves - White Sox Org Chris Buechner - Rockies Org Beau Hale - Oriloles Org
  21. 3ABirdman wrote "The majority of LCM's best athletes sit in the stands Friday nights after hanging up their baseball cleats when school lets out." Dear Birdman. C'mon man! Many of our baseball players are on the football team right now. I think probably 4 of 9 starters. I heard this stat last year and I thought I would share it with you. "Over the last 12 years, 40% of LCM starters in baseball were football players." I will admitt that this number might have gone down with only three of twelve varsity players last year having played football. We are'nt looking for excuses for our football program. We are looking for progress and I think we are making it.
  22. It was from this earlier post and I was wrong. He said twice.
