Coaches work their butts off. Sometimes down cycles have more to do with dna than anything else. As has been said before you can’t win the Kentucky derby with a mule. Schools cycle through up and down years.

A few questions do the high school coaches have control of the feeder schools in Beaumont? Other questions also arise but competing with the likes of north shore atascocita, summer creek and king involve a lot of sweat equity and buy in from the kids to the coaches and parents.

Seems like we don’t get near the small ball talk we did years back on the board. Dayton folks not near as much anymore either and I miss reading that. Would be fun to see more 21-6a talk but humble area is just out of range.

Not a fan of high school coaches recruiting kids in. Know it’s done a lot especially east Houston and beyond but something about winning with what you have is appealing.

Any newsworthy transfers in the area now that spring ball is up and running?

To borrow from Saban. It’s rat poison. Been around it as a dad and it’s as corrupt as it comes both girls and boys. Seen some crazy stuff and even gets better when the way coach funnels kids to select schools. Not to mention some of those dudes were bagmen for college programs. For the most part those organizations (aau teams) look out for themselves and not the kids.

Helped surratt that they dropped a classification also. Not taking anything away from the great success that they have had.

Go get that double dip money.

Same bracket summer creek had last year. Go get ready for Katy. 6a region 3 is not a world beater of a bracket for two rounds and last two years half that did not have Katy was an easier bracket.

Sounds like he was grooming them. I’ll lay odds that this was not his first foray.

Let’s not forget that 21-6a is likely the best football district in the state. Very well could have all 4 teams work thru the brackets and meet in regional finals.

Invest in facilities, take care of coaches (stipends, classes, etc), hold kids accountable all needed. In addition get the hallways under control not a lot of good comes from chaos.

Do things to win with average kids. Develop them. Run downhill, boot waggle 3 step and play great defense. Old fashion ball. Most importantly give the staff a chance since that can be done from any offensive scheme

Fixes: pay coaches great stipends. Pay them and have high expectations facilities match suburban Dallas indoors etc( not just for football) sell the programs. next feeder schools hs coach hires staff they are attached. gotta have numbers get and keep kids out. kids- they have tone disciplined but in and put in the work after school and summer. All easier said than done.

Atascocita has always had dudes. Might not have been reflected record wise early on.

BU doesn't even look like they want to be there. BISD football is an embarrassment.

Will bisd invest in football. Pay assistant coaches and head coaches going rates in Dfw and Houston. Will they invest in facilities at schools (wt rooms, meeting rooms, indoor facilities, etc) or is bisd going to go way of hisd, fwisd, disd and pay lip service to football. lastly kids and community have to invest in the program also. It is easy to be destructive and hard to be constructive. want to be soc, Duncanville, etc. look at their facilities.
