  1. I doubt that this game will be a double-digit win. And I think it could go either way. I hope Nederland pulls out the upset.
  2. As a former teammate of Dionte, I have noticed a huge improvement over his freshman year, and he is getting better each time I watch him. I expect to hear good things about him this year, and for the next two years after that.
  3. No team is a push over for Nederland just yet. I think they need to prove themselves a little more before Nederland vs (insert some team here) can be a "guaranteed" win. However, if they played like they played in the YMBL tournament, then they will win this game.
  4. Yes it was that close of a game. Nederland took the lead with a couple quick shots very late in the 4th, and gave OF a couple of chances to come back, but it didn't happen. I think that Nederland stole this game from OF. In my opinion, OF was more deserving of this game and I think they will have a great season in district play this year. Good luck to them. I'm afraid that Nederland is too inconsistent right now. They need to work on playing at their level the entire game for every game, and not at the level of their opponent. And they can not let their season culminate at their win at Hardin Jefferson. Until this happens, I'm not sure how the Nederland district-season will turn out.
  5. Nederland has fallen to OF for the past two years, I believe. It should change this year, but it won't be a blow out. Ned 58 OF 53
  6. Playing teams that can shut down the main scorers is good for the Dogs early in the season. The rest of the team can make baskets, and the tough games like this one will help them in the long run when they are forced to put points on the board. Nederland is definitely going to have one of their best seasons in a long time. *knocks on wood*
  7. It seems like the Dogs are doing poorly in low-scoring games so far ( by poorly I mean, losing). I know Memorial is bound to have a good defense, but was this low scoring game due to a poor shooting performance of Nederland? Or was the defense just that spectacular?
  8. I can't remember how many times we played WOS last year, but I know we didn't lose to them and it was at least 2 games. However, the first meeting @ WOS, the game was very tight and WOS lead most of the game until halftime, then Nederland pulled away by ~20 points. And the other game I can recall was at the Barber's Hill Tournament, which Nederland started off well but played sub-par basketball in the second half and allowed WOS to bring it into overtime, which the Dogs did end up winning as well. The dogs have to play 4 quarters of each game to pull an 'easy' win, if they don't it will be close for sure. With that in mind: Ned 60 WOS 54
  9. I'm not sure how quick Coach English will be able to rotate Forney into the line up now that football is over, but I think the Dogs have a much better shot if he will be playing. Nederland has a reputation of being pretty inconsistent from last year and so far, for this year as well. I want my dogs to have a good night on Tuesday and put another tally on the Win column. Dogs by 4.
  10. I am definitely shocked, but pumped after the loss to Barber's Hill. This is a huge win for Nederland. And if Torres really knocked down 43 points, that is amazing. I know the entire the team can shoot the rock, I'd love to catch a game where the entire team is on sync.
  11. BH 41 Ned 39 from a text message Nederland is missing their big guy Dionte Forney due to football right now. He is definitely a presence that will make a difference.
  12. Last year's game was a good one between these two. I'm expecting the same thing this year. Ned 54 BH 49
  13. This is going to be a great year for Nederland basketball. I can't wait to come down to watch some games.
