Brenham definitely did their homework on Nederland. I don't think they have handled a press well this entire season.

GO NEDERLAND!!! I think they would have to make it to the regional finals to play Houston Yates. I can't view the bracket now, but if I remember correctly, I think they would have to defeat Brenham, then a team like LaMarque and then they would meet Houston Yates. But that is just off the top of my head from what I think I remember seeing earlier. UIL should fix the 4a playoff .pdf.

Central dominated the Dogs in this game, though Nederland did show a spark in the 3rd quarter, but it wasn't near enough to get anything rolling. Central had great defense against Nederlands weak guard play. There was even the worst clear call at the end of the 3rd (maybe, I forgot which quarter) in which Nederland was given 2 points literally a second or two after the buzzer went off. I don't see Central losing another game in district play this season. As for the Dogs, they have a lot to work on, especially breaking a press and playing against pressure defense around the arc.

I'm not sure on the stats of the game, but Forney did well IMO... except for that 3-point shot he attempted. =D

First half was pretty even. Nederland had quite a few turnovers and couldn't find their shot. LC-M seemed to play tough in the first half and kept themselves in the game up until half time. I believe LC-M had the lead most of the first half, but Nederland had it going into halftime. In the second half, the dogs came out very strong and had many good possessions in the paint as well as behind the arc (hopefully they are finding their shot now). Nederland was leading by at least 20 with 2 minutes to go before Nederland took out the starters. The game ended with Nederland turning the ball over for 2 minutes and letting LC-M score 12 points or so to make it an 8 point game in the end.

Not only was the Nederland victory not a fluke, they did it without one of their best players offensively and defensively in Kelvin (Smith?). I'm not sure when he will become eligible again but he will definitely add to this teams performance.

I can't tell much on Seven Lakes' basketball team from their record and games. I know they were 4A a few years ago, how did they compare back then?

I heard Hayes' name several times if I'm not mistaken. Nederland's posts seemed to be dominating down low, I think Forney had about 20 points.
